Twitter to undergo changes (again) Elon Musk- What is the CEO doing?

Tesla owner Elon Musk notoriously acquired ownership of Twitter in October 2022. Ever since the social media platform has witnessed a whimsical series of changes that no one has been able to keep track of, every other day, there is a new modification or feature that is rolled out without prior testing. Multiple users have reported a downfall in their experience of using the application. On January 14, 2023, Musk took to Twitter to inform netizens about a roll-out of new features. The series of tweets contained details of all the changes that will be brought into action soon.

The first change includes the bookmark tab “moving to the tweet details page,” according to the CEO. In reply to a user, he also confirmed that the bookmarks would become searchable to ease the experience.  He also nodded to some users’ suggestion of disabling the cropping feature while uploading photos. An assurity to fix minor bugs also followed these changes.

One of Musk’s tweets quoted, “transparency builds trust.” Following this, he also confirmed the implementation of making account and activity status visible by next week. He also mentioned Twitter providing “tweet recommendation codes” to strengthen his belief.

Another notable change allows Twitter users to switch between the “following” and “recommended/for you” sections. The former section will show the tweets in chronological order by those you follow. Meanwhile, the latter will suggest accounts or tweets that you might like. These suggestions are strategized by monitoring your activity on the app. This new user interface is also said to be put in action in the next week, as told by the SpaceX owner in response to a user inquiring about the new feature.

In response to another cyberian’s advice, he also agreed to show users a 30-day average of their views or a similar metric system to calculate views.

The owner himself confirmed all of these changes as he took on his own Twitter account to promote them. These adjustments are said to be brought upon by “a much larger UI overhaul.”
