Lalit Modi hospitalised, placed on oxygen support; what happened?

Lalit Modi, an infamous fugitive businessman, is currently on external oxygen support due to deteriorating health. He shared pictures of himself in a white hospital gown with tubes and pipes and photos of a positive Covid test and X-rays. He revealed that he had a double Covid attack in 2 weeks. This got worse when accompanied by influenza and a deep pneumonia attack.

He is now being treated in London after being flown from Mexico, where he was imprisoned. His flight accompanied two doctors who provided mid-air medical assistance. The flight was provided by VistaJet, who he thanked. “Thank u to all at @vistajet for going the extra mile. I am extremely grateful to all. Love to all. Big hug”, he wrote in the post’s caption.

Lalit also mentioned gratitude and love for his son, Ruchir Modi. He gave a shout-out to his “superstar super-efficient son who did so much for me back in London,” according to Modi’s direct quote.

Lalit Modi has predominantly been in the news for a magnitude of reasons. He founded the Indian Premier League, commonly adored by the acronym IPL, in 2007. He collaborated with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to come up with an annual T20 franchise of the cricket league.

In 2010, he fled the country after being held guilty of tax evasion and money laundering. Modi took refuge in London after hiding from the legal authorities.

In the middle of 2022, he was yet again a significant contributor to the media propaganda after he was alleged to be dating actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. This rumor quickly gained the attention of the masses and became bait for gossip mongers.

The recent health update that came directly from Lalit’s official social media accounts sparked a wave of concern among people. Many of his acquaintances left sincere wishes for his speedy recovery.
