Veteran journo turned Bollywood actor Vishwamohan Badola is no more. Dies at 83

There is an extremely sad news. The veteran journalist turned theatre and Bollywood actor octogenerian adored and highly respected in Bollywood fraternity, Vishwamohan Badola is no more.

Father of versatile television and Bollywood actor actor ” TV serial Mere Dad ki Dulhan fame Varun Badola, Vishwamohan Badola was eighty three year old.

In the month of August he was diagnosed with Swine flu and had also been hurt due to his falling down in his house. He was hospitalised and the family was really facing troubled times due to Vishwa Mohan Badola’s Swine flu infection, especially during the pandemic times and his body not responding to medicines due to weak immune system due to age factor.

A senior journalist turned actor Vishwa Mohan Badola having been in TOI, The Patriot, Deccan Herald, HT etc was an expert in South East Asian affairs having acted in more than 400 play being a renowned theatre actor who also acted in several Bollywood movies to name a few , MUNNA BHAI MBBS, SWADESH, JODHA AKBAR, JOLLY LLB , 2, LEKAR HUM DEEVANA DIL etc.

Vishwamohan Badola is a respected name in Bollywood especially in Uttarakhandi circles as a veteran journalist, theatrist and a Bollywood actor.

Badola’s son Varun is a popular television and Bollywood actor and his daughter in law Rajeshwari Sachdev Badola too an actress. His daughter Alka Kaushal is also an actress having worked in several television serials.

In a career amassing five decades Vishwamohan Badola will be heartily remembered as an outstanding theatrist and a Bollywood actor. He was in Delhi for the major part of his career as a senior journalist having tremendous participatory interest in theatre as well. He was a jovial person and of supportive nature having been supportive in separate Uttarakhand movement and in Uttarakhand Patrakaar Parishad. He was quite active in Mohan Upreti’s Parvatiya Kala Kendra n performed in several plays n nriyanatikaas etc. He later on shifted to Mumbai probably in early nineties. Badolaji’s untimely passing away has sent shock waves in Bollywood n Uttrakhandi circles including the media fraternity. May his soul rest in peace.
