The meeting of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival with the union home minister Amit Shah, the Delhi LG Anil Baijal, Union health minister Harsh Vardhan, AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria and the officials of Department of Delhi Disaster Management which had commenced at 11.00 in the morning today ended with another information about the next meeting at 5 in the evening between the Union Home minister, Delhi LG , Delhi CM and the mayors of MCD.

The union Home minister Amit Shah had a meeting with Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival two days ago as well to discuss the alarming situation arising in Delhi due to the rapidly spiralling cases of Covid 19. The CM Kejrival had then tweeted that the union home minister had assured of all the necessary cooperation to fight the pandemic.

Today’s meeting was immensely critical as the Covid 19 situation in Delhi has assumed critical proportion especially after the capital city witnessing horrible spike of more than two thousand cases on Friday and Saturday with its total tally nearing 37 thousand cases and nearly 1284 Covid 19 deaths.

About 57 death cases due to this pandemic were reported during the last 24 hours. The chief minister Arvind Kejrival had just two days ago speculated that keeping in view the 7 days doubling rate Delhi would witness about 5.32 lakh Covid 19 cases by 31st July requiring 1lakh 50 thousand beds for Delhi as well as outside Covid 19 patients from other states.

Today Delhi has jumped in the third padestral after Maharashtra and Tamilnadu as the third state with maximum Covid 19 infections which last month was on the 9th position amongst all the states of the country. Similarly at the global level too India has now joined the fourth position after US, Russia n Brazil. Delhi being the capital of India housing President, Prime minister, Council of ministers, Judiciary, top bureaucrats and all the important functioneries the tremendous spike in Covid 19 cases have infact worried those at the helm of affairs in the union as well as the state government.

In today’s hectic meeting as per the version of the deputy CM Manish Sisodia various important measures to be taken jointly by the union government as well as the state government to effectively counter the critical situation have been discussed in detail as tweeted above. It has also been revealed that during themeeting the HM has offered 500 coaches to Delhi government to cope with the alarming situation due to the spike in cases. The evening meeting of HM with CM Delhi, LG and MCD mayors will fix the responsibility of MCD to effectively cope with the critical situation by rendering all possible support n help through MCD hospitals by enhancing the beds n coverting them as Covid hospitals.
