Uttarakhand Covid 19 cases rise to 1692 numbers. Recovery rate 52 %.

Uttarakhand is daily witnessing surge in Covid 19 cases with the present tally reached at 1692 cases. Though this number is too little as compared to the massive surge in metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai but keeping in view the low testing rate and delay in acknowledging the test reports the daily surge in Uttarakhand is indeed worrisome, especially after the exodus of outsiders in the state after becoming jobless n thus in financial jeopardy in other states where they had gone to arrange sustenance for their respective families.

Though the cases have been increasing every day, especially after the exodus from other states since the last two weeks when thousands of Uttarakhandies have returned back and quarantined for 7 to 14 days before entering their houses. About three/ four cases of suicides by hanging in quarantine centres of Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal and Udham Singh Nagar were reported during the last two weeks with a petitioner from Pauri Garhwal filing a petition in the Uttarakhand High Court against the deteriorating conditions in Quarantine centres.

According to the latest health bulletin of Uttarakhand, out of the total 1692 Covid 19 cases, there have been 895 recoveries, which brings the total active cases to 899 with 19 Covid 19 deaths.

Today 37 cases of Covid 19 were detected from various districts of Uttarakhand with 9 recoveries. There are 15,102 persons in home quarantine in the state whereas the testing results of 4417 persins are awaited. About 895 cases have been sent for testing today and the results are awaited. In all about 35670 persons tested were found negative of Covid 19.

The state cases are doubling in 17 days and 1082 cases were found negative in 24 hours. The recovery rate in the state is around 52% while 1941027 persons have down loaded the AROGYA SETU APP which seems to be not so well an achievement.

However, keeping in view the 52% recovery rate things look quite assuring. Despite all this what surprises us the most is, if as per the statement of the chief ministe earlier more than two lakh outsiders ( earlier doing jobs in other states) have returned to Uttarakhand than the quarantined number of 15 thousand people is quite less compared to the total people returned home.

Meanwhile the renowned social activist and firmer DG of 108 Ambulance service of Uttarakhand Anoop Nautiyal : merely 47 cases have been tested in the four hill districts of Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat and Pithoragarh, ( combined population 16 lakh plus) during the past three days.

Aditionally no samples have been checked yesterday and today in Nainital district. If testing issues need backup / solution. ASAP
