The US registered the highest deaths in a single day due to corona: the data says it’s nearly 1500
Between Thursday and Friday, the United States recorded nearly 1500 deaths due to global pandemic. The data shared by Johns Hopkins University tracker says that the total number of fatalities has reached to almost 7000, and the numbers are increasing rapidly.
The US President Donald Trump has recommended all the citizens to cover their faces with home-made masks or scarves as a preventive measure. He emphasized on not buying the medical-grade masks and keep them available for health workers who are in the highest exposure to this pandemic. Earlier, it was recommended that the masks should be worn only by the sick people and their care-takers.
The US researchers are studying the chances of the aerosolization of the virus via breathing. This statement is yet to be confirmed, they added. As of now, the main pathway of the transmission of the COVID-19 virus is via droplets that are expelled while coughing or sneezing by an infected person.
The World Health Organization has expressed its cautiousness towards the aerosol transmission. If this comes out to be true, then it’s prevention would be next to impossible, says an official. Currently, the US has more than 2.5 lakhs positive cases, out of which almost 7000 are dead.
