The untimely sad demise of a gentleman to the hilt, RTI activist of Uttarakhand, always coming to the rescue of the poor, under privileged and the economically deprived sections of the society, especially the patients seeking treatment in Haldwani’s Sushila Tiwari n Base hospitals, keeping the docters n paramedical staff on tenterhooks also taking up burning issues, including monetarily helping the hapless Samaritan Gurvinder Singh Chadda is no more, who breathed his last yesterday night after suffering from a strong cardiac arrest.

This sad news has send shock waves in Haldwani n the entire Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, especially his family, friends and well wishers in entire Uttarakhand n other parts of the country.

A genuine, transparent and honest RTI activist always endeavoring to help the poor n hapless, especially the patients suffering from various ailments seeking treatment in varoius hospitals of Haldwani n other private hospitals keeping the doctors, adminitrative officials on tenterhooks, soft spoken n affable natured Gurvinder Singh was connected through social media with journalists, socially awakened friends n well wishers and used to highlight people centric issues always helping poor n hapless people n friends, awakening the society inflicted with corruption n administrative negligence in Haldwani n Uttarakhand.

I vividly remember this selfless relentless fighter Gurvinder Singh once invited me to hotel Taj Man Singh two years ago when his brilliant daughter edited a book of the Delhi’s police commissioner and also anchored the event in a lavish book release function.

That was my first n last meeting with him. Gurvinder always highlighted the governmental lacunas in print n electronics media n questioned the successive ruling political dispensations of the state and senior administrative officers about the negligence and ignorance of the system in order to seek redressal of peoples’ grievances existing in health, education and unemployment sectors of the state.

Despite being an entrepreneur of repute in Haldwani his entire life was wedded to noble causes of helping the poor, hapless and the economically deprived sections of the society. The sudden passing away of Gurvinder Singh Chadda is a huge loss to humanity and the poor sections of tbe society of Haldwani, Kumaon and Uttarakhand. May his soul rest in peace.
