Arnab Goswami of Republic TV arrested on a 2018 case of abetment to suicide

Arnab Goswami, a controversial journo n proprietor of Republic TV has been arrested today in connection with the 2018 case on the charges of abetment to suicide.

He was arrested this morning by the Mumbai police from his residence where the police barged into his house. There have been alleged allegations of physical assault on him and his wife, with the entire arrest episode being covered live by the camera crew of republic TV being aired right now with a woman’s voice indicating towards the policemen that you are on camera including charges of physical assault.

Entire world knows that there have been incessant confrontation between Arnab Goswami and the Maharashtra govt n police with both accusing each other with FIR lodged against him and his reporters in a case pertaining to TRP manipulation etc.

Meanwhile Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut who is these days in Kullu Manali in connection with the marriage of her cousin having recently gone to invite the Himachal CM Jairam Thakur n entire HP cabinet, posting the pictures handing over the invitation to the HP CM in social media etc has today again posted her vedio assailing the Maharashtra government in strongest terms over Arnab Goswami’s arrest with hashtag# Arnab we are with you, asking them as to how long will they continue their coercion against their political rivals.

Meanwhile union home minister Amit Shah and I&B minister Prakash Javadekar have openly come out in support of the arrested journalist Arnab Goswami issuing tweets.

The union HM Amit Shah tweeted : Congress and its allies have shamed democracy once again. Blatant misuse of state power against Republic TV & Arnab Goswami is an attack on individual freedom and the 4th pillar of democracy. It reminds us of the Emergency. This attack on free press must be and will be opposed.

Union minister Prakash Javadekar tweeted : We condemn the attack on freedom of press in Maharashtra. This is not the way to treat the press. It reminds of the days of emergency when the press was treated like this, tweeted Union I n B minister Javadekar.
