Lets Focus on Why We Celebrate National Youth Day ?

Every year, 12 January is celebrated as National Youth Day to commemorate the influential role of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda, an influential leader to motivate the Indian youth in the 19th century, was born on that day. The Government of India declared it National Youth Day in 1984, and since 1985 the nation has been observing the day to remember the legend of Indian history.

This national Youth Day is scheduled to be inaugurated in Karnataka by the honorable prime minister Narendra Modi. This year is marked as the 26th National Youth Festival of India. The celebration will be held in Hubbali district of Karnataka.

According to the PIB press release on 10th January, the purpose of the National Youth Festival is to promote the talented youths of the nation. The aim of the festival is “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” Through the program, the government upskills the youths to galvanize their skills for building a strong-based nation. The 2023 National Youth Festival at Hubballi-Dharwad in Karnataka from the 12th to 16th of January has the theme, “Viksit Yuva – Viksit Bharat.”

Apart from the scheduled program in Karnataka, the day will be celebrated throughout the country. Essay competitions and host parades, speeches, readings, songs, conferences, and seminars will be organized by different government and non-government organizations.

The official report says that the 26th National Youth day in Karnataka will be remarkable as it will be the Green Youth Festival. Only reusable and disposable products will be used throughout the program. Also, the mementos, medals, and stationery in the ceremony will be reusable. This program will unite different cultures across the country on a single platform. It will be Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat in a true sense.

Swami Vivekananda inspired the Indian youth in the 19th century with the aim of building a strong nation. Our country celebrates the day to remember the legend’s teaching and encourage our country’s youth with his ideas and philosophies.
