Kidnapper Sadhus of 11year old boy of Betalghat, Uttarakhand sent in 10 days judicial custody

Two saffron clad imposters in the attire of Sadhus who had clandestinely influenced an 11 year boy of Rataura village three days ago and locked him in another village’s temple room dressing him as child sadhu 2.5 kilometres away at Halso in Betalghat block of Nainital have been send to ten days judicial custody by a court on Sunday.

The families and people living in Betalghat block in Nainital are shocked and terror stricken after this sensational kidnapping with the local gram pradhan of Rataura Gram Sabha demanding bonafidity checks of all the labourers and outsiders working in these areas especially few labourers working in stone crushers by taking their adhar cards, identity cards or other credentials in order to keep their records with police to avoid further recurrence of such shocking incidents.

The two culprits Sadhus have accepted having kidnapped the 11 year old boy of Rataura village and locked him in a temple room of Halso village 2.5 kilometres away , a crime committed at midnight with the ulterior intent of ferrying him in a vehicle with Haryana number to Haryana or elsewhere etc.

Unfortunately such kidnappings of child traffickers are unabated in every state of the country and now in Uttarakhand as well with two young girls of Chamoli Garhwal etc also missing with their appeals being posted in social media these days.

In the past too in Salt block a year or two ago there had allegedly been several such complaints, of women, girls missing either eloped with their paramours after being manipulated or misguided or allegedly missing/ kidnapped putting their anguished parents in jeopardy. A girl’s dead body was also found in a jungle including a college going girls immolated in broad day light by a stalker in Pauri etc. These are indeed serious matters and deserve fullest attention of the police authorities.

In the current case of the kidnapped 11 year old boy, a Sadhu had mysteriously appeared in Betalghat some 1.5 months ago who was given refuge in a temple in Dadima, Rataura, Bethalghat by the local villagers compenssionately.

A family from Buradi, Delhi originally hailing from Rataura had come to native place to perform spiritual Pooja and a JAAGAR was being performed three days ago in the village at midnight.

After the religious Pooja when the family noticed that there 11 year son is not traceable, they alongwith the villagers went to search him with torches in the nearby village where two mazdoors noticed the voice of a terrified crying boy from a temple room in village Halso. The kidnapped child was rescued thereafter who revealed the entire trivial story of his kidnapping.

What is an interesting facet about this whole incident is that after locking the boy in the room of the nearby village the kidnapper returned back to Ratura and became the part of the searching villagers, showing anxiety about the missing boy.

Finally both the Sadhus were caught red handed by the revenue police n case handed over to regular police who interrogated them, having accepted their crime.

The court on Sunday send them to ten days judicial custody thereafter after lodging FIRs under relevant sections of the IPC.

In Noida Delhi about five years ago a four year Uttarakhand’s five year old girl too was kidnapped while she had gone downstairs in a Bhagwat Katha namely Khushi Rawat who has unfortunately, not been traced till yet despite best efforts of the parents, police, political leaders and various social organisations’ protests and handing of memorandums to authorities including meeting the UP CMs Akhilesh Yadav, his MP wife, Yogi Adityanath, union minister home, all MPs, SSPs of Noida and several articles written in newspapers and social media.

Last month a 14 year old girl was also kidnapped by four culprits in Betalghat and was diabolically killed after being gangraped inviting tremendous protests by the last call populace demanding death to culprits.

A social activist of Betalghat Surendra Halsi while condemning such obnoxious incidents in strongest possible terms have urged the police authorities to check the credentials of all the outsiders in the area with immediate affect by verifying their original addresses and the backgrounds in order to stop recurrences of such incidents in the near future in the land of Abode of Gods.
