Increase in petrol, Diesal n gas prices have led to all round skyrocketing inflation breaking the people’s back : India Youth Congress

New Delhi, 20 February 2021: Petrol and Diesel prices have been increasing in the country continuously for 11 days. After 1 May 2019, petrol prices have increased by Rs 15.21 per liter and diesel prices by Rs 15.33 per liter till date. From May 2014 till today, Modi government has looted 21 lakh 50 thousand crores from the people of this country by taxing petrol and diesel. On one side there is an all-round inflation and on the other there is a spate of diesel-petrol-gas prices. Petrol has crossed Rs 100 and diesel has crossed Rs 90 in many parts of the country. These are the views of the infuriated national president of Indian Youth Congress while addressing the Youth Congress workers at the protest demonstration held outside the ministry of Petroleum on Saturday.

National President of Indian Youth Congress Srinivas BV said that petrol and diesel prices have increased for the 11th consecutive day. He questioned angrily : Why is the BJP led NDA government not giving the benefit of low crude oil prices to the common man? While giving the example of prime minister Manmohan Singh’s tenure he said that when the international crude oil rate per barrel was 108 dollars, in India petrol was Rs 71.51 per litre but during PM Narendra Modi’s tenure while the per barrel rate is 60.96 almost nearly half the price of per litre petrol is nearly Rs 89 n even Rs 100 at some places, with Diesal selling at Rs 79. This is shameful he said.

When On one hand, petrol and diesel prices in the country are much higher than in neighboring countries, while on the other hand, the increased prices have also started smuggling of petrol and diesel he added. He said that the Petrol is getting cheaper in Nepal than India. It is the only and only the NDA government which is solely responsible for this anti people inflation said Shriniwas while strongly criticizing the NDA government.

He further said that the shameful thing is that despite taxing petrol and diesel openly and looting it, the BJP government also wants to get rid of it by putting the blame on the Congress. Modi ji has made such a dent in the budget of the housewife and the common man that they are unable to cope as just within the last 14 days, the price of cylinders has increased by 75 rupees.

National President of Youth Congress Shri Srinivas BV said that farmers, youth, workers, businessmen and the women are trampling on inflation but the RSS and BJP are not at all concerned about it.

He said that the anti-people face of RSS and BJP has come out. He said that the people of the country had chosen PM Modi on the promise of a good day, now PM Modi has broken the trust of the people. Against the anti-people attitude of the Modi government, the Youth Congress is agitating across the country and raising the voice of the common man said national Youth Congress president. He added that the Youth Congress workers are fighting against the BJP at the district and tehsil levels in each state. Srinivas BV demanded the resignation of the Petroleum Minister and also demanded the Central Government to reduce the prices of petrol-diesel and gas with immediate effect.

Rahul Rao, the National Media In-charge of the Indian Youth Congress, said that this government has no understanding of the economy. Inflation is already increasing. The prices of gas cylinders and petrol-diesel, which are on fire, will increase inflation further. This time, Petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders are out of reach of common man. He demanded that the increased prices be withdrawn with immediate effect and the increase in excise duty should be brought back to provide relief to the masses suffering from inflation and recession.

National General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress and Delhi in-charge Bhaiya Pawar, Indian Youth Congress national secretary Deepak Chotiwala, Delhi Youth Congress vice-president Ranvijay Lochav, Shubham Sharma, Hallan Chaudhary and several youth Congress workers were present in the protest.

The youth Congress president n protesting workers also courted arrest to register their protest against rise in prices of petroleum products.
