High Court dismisses PIL on extending lock down. Delhi Health minister too denies about any such proposal in pipeline.

The Delhi Health minister Satyendra Jain has denied rumors about the reimposition of lock down in the capital city as was being speculated in social media and some news reports.

In view of the surge in Covid 19 cases in Delhi at an average of nearly 1300 cases daily there was a buzz in social media regarding the demand or speculation about the re imposition of lock down in Delhi from 15th June to 31st July. Meanwhile, the Delhi high court has also dismissed the PIL demanding extention or reimposition of lockdown in Delhi from 15th March to 31st July in view of the massive jump in Covid 19 cases in Delhi.

The high court while dismissing the PIL, unambiguously said that it’s the decision of the Delhi government to take a view on this. The court has no role to play. The health minister Satyendra Jain refused agreeing to these demands in social media posts and rebuffed them saying that there is no such proposal in pipeline by the Delhi government. He also refused to request the centre for extention of lockdown when questioned by the media.

It may be recalled that in the last 24 hours about 1800 cases have been detected and in all 1084 covid 19 patients have died.

However, there is confusion in this figure as news reports suggest that according to the MCD figures of those Covid 19 deceaseds cremated in Delhi’s cremetorium since 15th March till date the number crosses 2 thousand. While the BJP leaders are blaming the Delhi government for furnishing wrong statistics about the deads , AAP leaders retorted saying that this is not the time to blame each other and play politics as their figures are correct and people are suffering.

Meanwhile, as per the sting operation of the Aaj Tak news channel – in at least three private hospitals of Delhi the distressed Covid 19 patients and their families are being denied addmissions despite the beds being shown vacant in the Delhi government’s Corona APP and are charging from 5 to 7 lakhs per patient and even more. The private hospitals have become the money minting machines exploiting the critical situation these days say the distressed families who are runningfrom pillar to post for addmission n subsequent treatment. There have been several such instances in the recent past when the Covid 19 patients were denied admission in hospitals and had died later on.

The employees of Parmanand Hospital, Batra hospital and another pvt hospital situated in Mayur Vihar were shown on sting camera asking for hefty sum in lakhs and denying insurance facility etc.

Meanwhile, keeping in view the spiralling number of the Covid 19 patients in Maharashra n Mumbai the chief minister Udhav Thakrey while addressing the media said that if the surge in cases do not stop then it may go for an another lockdown in Maharashtra.

Currently Maharashtra has 98 thousand cases and in the last 24 hours there were 162 deaths with more than thirty five hundred infections. What is most worrisome is the fact that the economic capital of the country Mumbai has more than 54 thousand cases with nearly two thousand deaths.

Similarly in Delhi while the Covid 19 figure is nearly 35 thousand cases it is speculated that by 31st July it will reach a massive 5.5 lakh numbers with Delhi requiring 1 lakh 50 thousands beds with collosal enhancement in para medic staff and other mandatory requirements.

Meanwhile India has taken the third position in the World after United States, Russia n Brazil topping its tally among other countries like Italy, Spain, UK, Germany etc etc earlier above India in Coronavirus cases.
