Drunk incidents on the Indigo flight: 2 passengers arrested in Patna 

A police complaint against 2 drunk passengers arrested has been filed by Indigo airline, who were found to be Drinking On Flight To Patna and carrying alcohol inside the flight. The incident happened inbound of the Indigo flight in Patna on 09th January 2023, when two male passengers were found in an inebriated condition and created a scene in the flight. CISF has taken action against the 2 drunk passengers arrested and deputed them at Patna’s airport premises after being handed over by the flight crew. The arrest was made after Indigo’s manager had given a written complaint about the incident to CISF authorities. The information regarding the accompanying alcohol onboard the flight was pre-informed to the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) by Indigo.

It is reported that the 2 drunk passengers arrested in Patna were stopped by flight attendants for consuming alcohol on the flight. A written apology was taken from the passengers(i.e., 2 drunks mens in flight). And the 2 Indigo passengers arrested by the CISF. Also, the airline has stated that no physical row has happened on board the flight.

A similar incident of a drunken passenger on an Air India flight from New Delhi to New York has been news recently. The passenger Santosh Mishra is accused of urinating on an elderly lady passenger. This happened on Nov.26 Air India flight to Delhi. The lady wrote to Tata group Chairman N Chandrasekaran about the incident, but the onboard crew members didn’t support her. She has clearly stated the lack of any help from flight attendants.

N Chandrasekaran has accepted that the fault lies with Air India and that the reaction from the airline should have been swifter and more active. In a statement given to a news agency, he clearly stated that the incident had brought grief to him and his team member sat air India. He also added that the incident is being reviewed holistically, and the review will be varied to prevent future occurrences of similar incidents.

On 07 Jan, Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson stated that action against four crew members and one pilot had been initiated and that show cause notices were issued to the concerned against the 2 drunk passengers arrested. However, he hasn’t revealed any specific reason for taking such action against them. In a recent update to the Air India incident, the Delhi police have made an arrest. Santosh Mishra, the acc, used has been arrested(i.e., 2 men arrested in Patna), and the investigation is being carried out(against the 2 drunk passengers arrested) to find out the allegations against him.
