Defence minister Rajnath Singh meets his Chinese counterpart in Russia,

The Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh alongwith his high level delegation held a meeting with his Chinese counter part General Wei Fenghe in Russia which lasted for two hours and twenty minutes.

The contents of the meeting could not be released. However, it’s obvious that the recent violation of the LAC by Chinese soldiers thwarted by the Indian Army at the Southern Pangong Tso Lake area in Eastern Ladakh would have been discussed after Indian defence minister had laid down his point of view strongly.

India believes in resolution of the dispute between two nations through peaceful bilateral negotiations and amicably.

The union defence minister is in Russia to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting attended by ten nations.

The Chinese defence minister had expressed his desire for a meeting with Indian defence minister.

This was the third request from the Chinese defence ministry since the border dispute arose in eastern Ladakh but India had never responded keeping in view the deceitful attitude of the Chinese government breaching Indo China border agreements repeatedly.

In May the Indian foreign minister Jai Shankar Prasad and the national security advisor Ajit Docal had also telephonically spoken to the Chinese defence minister Wang Yi regarding the LAC imbroglio in Eastern Ladakh and dragon’s deliberate misadventures against India .

China had been unsuccessfully trying to capture India territories since May in Eastern Ladakh. However the Indian side tried to pacify them to move back but after the misadventure by the Chinese in Galwan Valley on June 14 violently clashing with India soldiers in which 20 of our Armymen including a Colonel Santosh Babu were martyred n forty of Chinese troopers killed, the situation at the LAC went out of hand with the Indian Army n defence forces fully prepared to counter the Chinese with a heavy hand.

On 29 th and 30 th August while the Commander level negotiations between both the countries were going on in Chushul about 200 Chinese soldiers tried to enter our territory forcibly at Southern Pangong Tso Lake but the brave n intelligent India Army SSF Commandoes thwarted the Chinese attempts by not only pushing them back to their positions but also captured the key positions at strategic mountain heights and raising Indian flag high.

This demoralised the Chinese to a great extent giving a huge rebuff to them by Indian Army for their wrong move of entering India territory.

Today Indian Forces are in full control of Eastern Ladakh on our side of LOC with military and diplomatic level meetings between both the countries going on for a possible resolution of this vexed issue. The Indian foreign minister Jai Shankar is scheduled to visit China next week.
