Declared missing on 8th January, Rajendra Singh Negi of Garhwal Rifles declared martyred on Independence day

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family of late constable of Indian Army, full of valour Rajendra Singh Negi who was missing since 8th January after his coming under the influence of snow landslide while patrolling on the line of control in Anantnag, Jammu n Kashmir.

After the incessant search of the mysteriously disappeared constable Rajendra Negi he was declared as a ” battle casualty”, by the Army authorities. He was serving in 11 Garhwal Rifles battalion.

There were news about his having been fallen in a gorge during patrolling after his leg slipped when the dangerous hurricane arrived in the LOC.

There were also rumours about his death with no credible clue of his where abouts. However, the distressed family had a ray of hope of his being alive since January when the Army declared that he’s missing. BUT, DESTINIY had a horrific news in store for the anguished family n the optimism turned into a deep tragedy when today, on India’s independence day his bad news about locating Negi’s dead body was given to his family.

Late constable Rajendra Singh’s wife was telephonically informed about this shocking news.

The valiant soldier martyred Rajendra Singh Negi’s body will be send to Delhi from Chandigarh unit on 16th August n to Dehradun till late evening to be finally consigned to flames the other day on 17 August after being kept for peoples’ DARSHAN. After his final adieu, he will be cremated at Haridwar with all the Army salutes n honours.

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has saluted the brave heart Jagmohan Singh Negi for his supreme marydom for the nation in the line of duty assuring his family that the government is standing solidly with them at this critical juncture, also praying to Almighty to render peace to his pious soul n to give enough strength to the family to bear this most irreperable loss.

Entire Uttarakhand is in grief after hearing the shocking news of brave heart Jagmohan Singh Negi.

Late Rajendra Singh Negi left behind a traumatic wife n two daughters. His father runs a small shop in the village in Chamoli to where he primarily belonged. He was the youngest in four brothers.
