Congressmen protest against the rape of a 11 yr old girl of Haridwar demanding stringent action

Hundreds of Congress workers and leaders of Uttarakhand under the leadership of state Congress president Pritam Singh, former minister and MLA from Chakrata, today staged a protest march, denouncing the BJP ruled government of the state for the deteriorating law and order situation in Haridwar and Uttarakhand after an adolescent girl was allegedly raped in Devnagri Haridwar by the human beasts.

The protest demonstration started from Devpura chowk to the victim’s house comprising of large number of angered and infuriated Congressmen demanding stringent punishment to the culprits of the most obnoxious shameful crime.

Led by Congress president Pritam Singh there were good number of women leaders and workers as well, demanding death to the culprits, apart from youths and senior citizens including the local populace.

The law and order situation in Uttarakhand is deteriorating day by day and the BJP government giving the slogan of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao has completely failed to curb crimes against women and adolescent girls in the state said Pritam Singh, the state Congress president.

After the long protest march the Congress workers and leaders squatted in the form of dharna and demanded strictest punishment to the culprits of this brutal crime.

Earlier, in the ongoing Assembly session, the Congress MLAs including the Chakrata MlA demanded early action to punish the guilty as a result an assurance was given by the parliamentary affairs minister Madan Kaushik that the Deputy Inspector General Uttarakhand Police has been directed to form a task force to bring the culprits to justice with stringent punishment.

A demonstration outside the Assembly was also organised by Congress against the skyrocketing prices of gas and essential commodities with large cut outs of the gas cylinders being sold on exorbitant prices in black. Through a tweet the Uttarakhand Congress has informed that a protest demonstration was organised from Devpura Chowk to the victim’s house under the leadership of state president Pritam Singh including a Dharna protest and strict action demanded against the culprits of this diabolical immoral act.
