According to the suicide note being circulated in the social media as well, signed by late Amarjeet Singh Advocate, member, Bar Association Jalalabad and signed with a green inkpen, with the title: Letter to Modi, it said : The general public of India has given you absolute majority, Power and faith for saving and prosper their life…, But with great sorrow and pains I have to say that the common people like farmers and labourers are feeling defrauded by your three agricultural black bills inevitably leading to their worst lives.

The public is on tracks and roads not for votes but for the livelihood of their families and generations. He added : the life of the people is the life of the God. I offer my sacrifice in support of this worldwide agitation to shake your deaf n dump conscience.

It may be recalled that while three suicidal deaths, one of a Sikh preacher/ priest Sant Singh, another of a 22 year old young boy and third of lawyer Amarjeet Singh of Jalalabad has been reported so far with an attempt to commit suicide by consuming poison all hailing from Punjab, about thirty farmers active in the ongoing kisan movement have died due to various reasons.

The negotiations between the agitating farmers’ representatives and the government led by union agriculture minister Narendra Tomar, Railway minister Mr. Goyal and state agriculture minister Som Prakash etc which had failed after several rounds of meetings till December 8th is now being held on 29th December after the All India Farmers Coordination committee led by more than 35 farmers unions ( organisations) from all over the country have agreed to attend the meeting to discuss their demands on the three contentious laws including enactment of a fresh law on MSP.

The prime minister Narendra Modi had in his few speeches n interaction with farmers’ representatives had accused the opposition parties especially the Congress for misguiding the farmers of the country by portraying the wrong picture of the three farm laws. He also assured the farmers that the MSP will exist as before with APMCs not to be disturbed including giving them the freedom to sell their produce to anyone they intend to but the farmers associations have spurned his appeal saying that nothing less than the repeal of the imposed three farm laws n enactment of new law on MSP satisfy them.
