Covid 19 cases reach 1303 in Uttarakhand with 423 recoveries

While on the one hand those living outside Uttarakhand for earnings and livlihood are returning back after the 70 days of lockdown having lost their jobs and financial stability, the deadly pandemic Covid 19 is also spreading with a rapid speed in the hilly state making the lives of the population highly tensed and fearful.

On Saturday till 8.00 PM about 89 cases of corona virus infection were found leading to the total cases of Covid 19 to 1303.

Till 2.00 PM , 31 cases of Covid 19 were detected while as per the 8.00 PM Bulletin, 58 more cases were recorded taking the Saturday tally to 89.

Among these cases Haridwar has maximum 29 cases, where as 16 cases were from Pithoragarh and 12 from Dehradun. In addition to this, 9 cases were detected from Tehri and 7 from Nainital while 6 cases each from Chamoli and Chapawat, 4 each from Almora and Bageshwar as well. Udham Singh Nagar recorded 3 cases while Uttarkashi only one.

However till now about 423 patients of Covid 19 have been recovered. What is worrisome about the surge in the pandemic cases in Uttarakhand is that – the testing of patients randomly or otherwise has been quite low and so are the testing results, as they are taking lot of time.

Till now while as per the alleged governmental information more than two lakh people of Uttarakhandi origin have repatriated to the state after the lockdown after losing their jobs, about 34000 persons have been quarantined in Uttarakhand so far. There have been news about the surge in infections due to the outsiders returning home from other states of the country. The Uttarakhand high court in Nainital has also issued strict instructions to the state govt to improvise the worsening condition of the quarantine centre in the state and also made 7 to 14 days quarantine mandatory for all those entering the state from outside Uttarakhand. The districtwise breakup of the cases in the state is as below:
