Shocking: 10 Dead After Bus Collides with Truck in Maharashtra

Ten people died, and at least 12 were seriously injured in a shocking accident in Maharashtra. The incident was reported today on the Kannauj-Shirdi highway in Maharashtra. The accident happened when a Shirdi-bound bus collided with a truck on the Kannauj-Shirdi highway, only a short distance from Ahmednagar. 

Most passengers on the bus were from the Thane district of Maharashtra. They were on their way for a pilgrimage to Shirdi, Maharashtra. As reported, both vehicles were severely damaged in the head-on collision. 

The injured passengers were admitted to hospitals in Nashik. According to the report from the authorities, the death toll may increase. Among the dead, seven were females, and three were males. The victims’ families arrived at the spot as soon as they got the news of the shocking accident.  

According to the reports, the bus was carrying 50 passengers. It started its journey from Ambernath, Mumbai, to take the passengers to Shirdi for a pilgrimage. Seven dead bodies have been identified, and as per the latest reports, three dead bodies are still unidentified. 

A senior police official states, “ Ten people, including seven women, lost their lives whereas the injured were shifted to the Sinnar Rural Hospital and a private hospital in Sinnar.”

With this shocking accident, there is also rising concern about the increasing number of road accidents in India. Every year, hundreds of people lose their lives in road accidents. 

The cause of the head-on collision is still unknown. The police are investigating the case, and the reason for the accident can be found only after a thorough investigation. Meanwhile, an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for the families of the dead. Also, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has given an order to the authorities to conduct an investigation into the incident.
