MV Ganga Vilas, Longest Luxury Cruise: Flagging Off 

13th January will be marked as a memorable day of achievement for India. The longest cruise-MV Ganga Vilas, will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a video conference today. 

Also, during the event, the Prime Minister today will inaugurate Tent City and other inland waterways projects. The worth of these projects is more than ₹1000 crores. 

Apart from the honorable Prime Minister of India, Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways – Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, and other senior government officials will be present during the cruise flag-off ceremony. 

According to the latest statement from a senior official of Port, Shipping, and Waterways, the longest Cruise, MV Ganga Vilas in the world, is a notable cruise vessel to be made in India. This cruise project is the true symbol of Self-reliant India or Atmanirbhar Bharat, the dream project of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. 

The Ministry of Culture states, “During the ceremony, The Ministry of Culture will conduct a grand curtain-raiser cultural program. The ‘Sur Sarita – Symphony of Ganga’ program of the Ministry of Culture will be conducted on the eve of the launch of the world’s most extended river cruise. 

The world’s most extended cruise will start its journey from Varanasi to Uttar Pradesh to reach Dibrugarh. It will cover 3,200 km in 51 days to reach Dibrugarh via Bangladesh. During the ceremony, the PM will release a “River Cruise Vision Document 2047” document. The document encapsulates the River cruise’s vision of progress and growth by 2047.

As a part of the event, the honorable Prime Minister will unveil the Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal, four floating community jetties in Uttar Pradesh, and the Skill Development Centre at Guwahati in Assam. 

MV Ganga Vilas has luxurious amenities with three decks and 18 suites on board. The rise has a capacity of carrying 36 tourists with world-class opportunities. The cruise comes with the latest Indian and international designs. It is a modernist ship with 62 meters in length, 12-meter width, and a draft of 1.4 meters.
