You have stopped us at Haryana border, I am ready to wait for one to 5000 hrs says Rahul Gandhi
Though the national general secretary of the Congress In-charge of Punjab Harish Rawat has been trying his level best to bring a reapproachment between the Cricketer turned politician Siddhu and the chief minister of Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh , there does not seem to be any hearty friendship between both of them despite the fact that the party leader Rahul Gandhi has been in Punjab for the last two days to participate in the farmers protest n Congress general secretary trying his best to patch up the differences between one time friends n now strong political foes within the same party.
During Rahul Gandhi’s successful rally when he himself drove the tractor leading the farmers protest rally against the NDA government’s farm bills, Punjab Chief minister Amrinder Singh and Sidhu were away from each other and in a rebellion mood not coming near each other.
When the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunil Jakhar was driving the tractor Rahul Gandhi n Amrinder Singh were on the front seats of the tractors and Sidhu was made to sit on the trailing tractor in the back with Harish Rawat.
It is believed that efforts of the Punjab In-charge Harish Rawat has not bore any fruits till yet with Sidhu and Amrinder Singh still not in a position to compromise.
Meanwhile the rally of the farmers in Punjab under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi was a grand success as hundreds of thousands of farmers of Punjab and Haryana had expressed their solidarity in support of Rahul Gandhi chanting pro Congress n Rahul Gandhi slogans castigating the NDA government of backstabbing the farmers of Punjab and the country by passing the three farm bills in support of Agri business houses.
It may be recalled that Congress general Secretary Harish Rawat had personally visited Sidhu at his house and had breakfast requesting Sidhu to honour his appeal of reapproachment with Captain Amrinder Singh to which both of them had agreed, but things do not seem to have materialised on the positive note till yet.
However, efforts are still on for the reapproachment between Sidhu n Punjab CM.
Meanwhile Harish Rawat has tweeted saying that the struggle against the union government on farmers issue will continue with more vigour n vitality to seek justice for farmers.
Rawat tweeted : The farmers of Punjab from Sanaur to Pihova border have after being harrased n victimised due to anti farmer policies of Modi government, through their impressive Kheti Bachao tractor rally raised their United voice against the black laws of Modi government.
The Caravan to seek justice will continue for ever tweeted Harish Rawat.
In another tweeted he wrote: Thousands of peasents of Punjab n Haryana during the Kheti Bachao Yatra reached the Punjab Haryana border to receive n welcome their leader Rahul Gandhi in large numbers. This relentless struggle will continue till justice is acknowledged in favour of farmers demands.
The Rally led by Rahul Gandhi was stopped by the BJP led government at the Haryana border with Rahul Gandhi tweeting : They have stopped us on a bridge on Haryana border. I am not moving and am happy to wait here.
