While some BJP leaders want their own CM, Tyagi says, Nitish will be sworn in after Deepawali

Though lots of voices are being raised from within the BJP camp in Bihar that it should have its own CM after the saffron party became the largest party in the NDA with former chief minister Nitish Kumar getting merely 43 seats as compared to 74 of the saffron party – till date there are unambiguous signals from the NDA that Nitish Kumar would be its chief minister of Bihar, likely to be sworn in after the Deepawali. Even, the BJP heavy weight of BJP in Bihar n deputy CM Sushil Modi has confirmed that none other but Nitish will be the next CM of Bihar. However, the national JDU leader n general secretary KC Tyagi while addressing a press conference also confirmed about Nitish Kumar’s swearing in after Deepawali as Bihar CM.

It is interesting to note that Nitish Kumar would be the Bihar chief minister for the fourth term having ruled the state for the last fifteen years but this time would be ruling at the helm with merely 43 lawmakers of his own.

However, the BJP will be having important portfolios of home, finance etc with maximum number of cabinet berths in view of its good majority. Nitish Kumar would be under tremendous pressure of the BJP and his position will always be on tenterhooks, at the mercy of the saffron party on whose majority support he would be leading the state.

Meanwhile, in Bihar Assembly about sixty eight percent of the winning candidates out of total 243 are from the criminal background with 51% lawmakers having serious criminal cases background. According to the report released by ADR and Election Watch out of 241 lawmakers in Bihar Assembly about 163 MLAs have criminal backgrounds with cases registered against them. Out of these 163 MLAs about 123 lawmakers have cases of serious nature registered against them with 19 cases of murders and 31 cases of attempt to murder including 8 cases of assualt against women.

According to the final election results the RJD has emerged as the largest party with 75 lawmakers followed by BJP with 74 MLAs and JDU having the strength of 43 lawmakers. The HAM and VIP has four MLAs each whereas the left parties viz CPI,CPM n CPI(ML) with total 17 seats. The political party of Asassudin Owaisi, MIM has won five seats in Bihar surprising one n all.

The election results of Bihar has literally failed the predictions of entire exit polls except the negligible few like the one of Dainik Bhaskar which had given BJP JDU edge over the MGB whereas Newsx vpresearch, India Today, Republic n Axis exit polls etc have all given RJD n Congress left Grand Alliance a landslide victory giving Tejasvi Yadav a clear cut advantage of being the next CM of Bihar. In the entire election the Congress party and LJSP has been the worst sufferer with Congress winning merely 19 seats out of total 70 n LJSP with merely one victory. However, Chirag Paswan’s LJSP has given a massive blow to JDU on more than thirty five seats n to the BJP as well in certain constituencies.
