Uttarakhand Congress chief demands probe into the arrest of state Congress genl secretary by SHO, New Tehri, Garhwal

A deputation of Uttarakhand State Congress Committee led by its president and MLA Pritam Singh today met the newly appointed Director General of Uttarakhand Police, IPS, Ashok Aggrawal registering their strongest protest and complained against the high handed attitude of the station house officer of New Tehri Police station M. S. Negi, demanding an impartial probe into the alleged arbitrary arrest of the state Congress general secretary Yakub Siddique on false n fabricated grounds.

The deputation that included Uttarakhand Congress Vice President Suryakant Dhasmana, general secretary Rajendra Shah n another state Congress office bearer led by Congress chief Pritam Singh said that the state general secretary Yakub was picked from his Patel Nagar house yesterday night, false cases allegedly registered and put behind bars.

His only fault was, that he had protested against the SHO Negi for allegedly thrashing his younger brother n thereafter putting him behind bars on fabricated grounds n the state general secretary Yakub Siddique as well said Pritam Singh.

It may be recalled that there was news in social media the other day being shared by several people that the SHO of Tehri Garhwal Mr. Negi was allegedly abused and attacked by the Congress general secretary Yakub Siddique n his men when he ( SHO) of asked him n his brother sitting on chairs in the middle of the road to get aside, with comments condemning this incident trying to allegedly give it a communal colour.

The Congress chief Pritam Singh has demanded an impartial probe into the entire episode while accusing the police of framing false charges against the party general secretary n arbitrarily putting him behind bar.

According to the state Congress vice president Suryakant Dhasmana the DGP, Uttarakhand, Mr. Ashok Aggrawal has accepted the request of the Congress party chief and recommended for the impartial probe to the IG Police Uttarakhand.
