Uttarakhand CM Rawat apologises to veteran Congress leader Indira Hridayesh, for indignifying her by his party chief

The Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has sought apologies from the veteran Congress leader, leader of the opposition in Uttarakhand assembly and former cabinet minister of Uttarakhand octogenarian Dr. Indira Hridayesh over the controversial unethical statement of state BJP chief n MlA Bansidhar Bhagat, amounting to denigrating her image in public strongly resented by the disenchanted seasoned woman leader of Uttarakhand.

In a tweet the Uttarakhand chief minister wrote: Respected Sister Indira Hridayesh, Today I am extremely anguished. Women are for us extremely reverential and worth praying. I personally seek apologies from you and all others who are anguished like me. Tomorrow I will personally speak to you and seek apology again.

The chief minister has been back from premier medical institute, AIIMS recently after having been admitted there with his wife n daughter after they had contracted Covid 19.

It may be recalled that a vedio of a speech of Uttarakhand’s BJP president, Bansidhar Bhagat is going viral in social media n even running on news channels in which he had used derogatory remarks against octagenerian Indira Hridayesh allegedly saying that who will prefer to go to an old women, ( Are Bhudhiya Tujse Kyon sampark karenge) inviting cheers from the audience, majority of them being the saffron party workers.

He was delivering a speech at political meeting at Nainital district responding to the statement of Congress leader Hridayesh a few days ago that 5 to 6 MLAs are in touch with Congress etc.

The vedio of the derogatory remarks went viral issued by news agency ANI creating quite a furore in Uttarakhand’s political circles especially in Congress, bringing bad name for the saffron party who talk so much of protecting the modesty of women and ensuring their safety and security. The Congress leader had taken and very serious view of the statement of BJP chief of Uttarakhand Bansidhar Bhagat thus giving opposition party a strong political weapon to oppose and counter BJP in media and on streets. This anti women derogatory remarks of Bansidhar Bhagat against Indira Hridayesh has brought BJP- n its government in the defensive mode compelling the CM Trivendra Rawat to seek unconditional apologies accepting publicly that a wrong has been committed by a responsible party chief, trying to dodge the political fire, that has erupted in the state out of this controversy.
