Uttarakhand cabinet minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat not to contest the 2022 assembly election

News are floating in Uttarakhand that the forest and wild life cabinet minister of the hilly state Dr. Harak Singh Rawat will not contest the assembly election of 2022, though he has not made any commitment about quitting politics.

There are reports of Dr. Rawat’s written communication sent to the central party high command and the chief of the state BJP in this regard. There are rumours about his changing sides from BJP to some other political parties viz Congress or AAP. Dr. Harak Singh Rawat seems to be annoyed with the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat after his removal from the chairmanship of the Building n Construction workers Board of Uttarakhand giving its additional charge to another sitting chairman of another board.

It may be recalled that the elections to the Uttarakhand state Assembly are due in the second month of the year 2022 with hardly a year n two months left.

There are possibilities of change of government during 2022 say political analysts especially in view of the anti incumbency factor n the usual trend of change of governments witnessed in Uttarakhand after every assembly election since the year 2000 when the state came into existence. The conscious electorates of Uttarakhand prefer change rather than repeating the same party during the assembly elections after every term.

Moreover, controversial Dr. Harak Singh Rawat have been changing various political parties from time to time being in Congress, BSP and BJP. He engineered defections during Harish Rawat’s government in Uttarakhand in 2017 n resigned as the then cabinet minister joining the BJP with eleven dissident Congress lawmakers to become the cabinet minister again in the BJP government.

However there are no confirmed reports about his plans to join any other political party but unconfirmed reports say that he was approached by the AAP high command to join n head the party in Uttarakhand when the Delhi CM n national convenor of AAP had made public announcement about the party contesting on all the seventy seats of Uttarakhand but Rawat rejected the proposal.

Popular leader of Uttarakhand Dr. Harak Singh Rawat is famous for winning elections with immense manipulative mastery, outstanding political acumen n organising skills, from any part of the state carrying behind him a good following of committed workers.
