Three Covid 19 vaccines may prove to be new year gift to get rid of the pandemic

While everyone is in jubilant mode on the advent of the new year, finally bidding adieu to the most disastrous 2020 that has witnessed unaccounted shocking fatalities due to dreaded pandemic, bringing each n every life to standstill, with hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs, their lives being completely derailed, a new ray of hope seems to be imminent with the likely arrival of Covid 19 vaccines in the month of January in India as assured by the prime minister Narendra Modi, union health minister Dr. Harshvardhan and the chief of the regulatory authority, Drugs Controller General of India V. G. Somani.

According to the latest available data there are total 1 crore three lakh cases of Covid 19 in India with 1 lakh 49 thousand Covid 19 related fatalities so far.

However, the recovery rate has been quite satisfactory with around 98 lakh patients of Covid 19 having been recovered so far but the fact remains that those who’d lost their near and dear ones due to the ongoing pandemic worldwide is irreversible. The losses have been unbearable and irreparable.

The pandemic is still continuing with people having become quite mobilised leading to adoption of the precautionery measures on a wide scale.

While United states of America, United Kingdom, China, Russia and several European countries have already started the innoculation of wide scale of various Covid 19 vaccines viz Pfizer, Senovac, Sputnik etc, India is yet to go for the innoculation but the government of India is leaving no stone unturned to ensure innoculation in the first two weeks of January with prime minister Narendra Modi, union health minister Dr. Harshvardhan and the Drug Controller of India Mr. Somani etc including the Covid 19 drugs manufacturers assuring of the vaccine innoculation on widescale shortly raising tremendous optimism of getting rid of the ongoing deadly pandemic.

As per the latest news reports pouring in India there are primarily three Covid 19 vaccines that have requested the government for the urgent and immediate official approval and the Drug Controller General of India has on Thursday formally given an assurance of according clearance to these three manufacturers of Covid 19 vaccines viz Oxford Astera Zeneca namely Covidshied, Pfizer, and Covaxin, indigenously manufactured in Hyderabad by Bharat Biotect and ICMR( Indian Council of Medical Research).

This revelation was made yesterday in a Webinar discussion by the Drug Controller of India sending signals of immense hope among crores of countrymen who are anxiously waiting for the vaccines to arrive and it’s subsequent innoculation.

According to a news report, the drugs controller of India in his Webinar message has revealed that ” We will have a happy new year with something in hand that’s all I can hint at.

The Subject Expert Committee of the Central Drugs Standards and Control Organisation is also meeting on Friday to take a formal decision in this important matter with prime minister Narendra Modi having already assured about the Covid vaccines coming in the month of January including the union health minister Dr. Harshvardhan giving several assurances.

It may be recalled that few weeks ago prime minister Narendra Modi had personally visited the Serum Institute of India in Poona and assessed the situation himself raising hopes of the vaccine coming at the earliest. In Hyderabad too the producer of Covaxin vaccine indigenously, Bharat Biotect had invited the diplomats of all the countries of the world to its plant who had widely lauded the Covaxin manufacturing unit at Hyderabad expressing their due satisfaction about the company meeting all the international standards.

It may be recalled that while Pfizer has already been approved by UK, US and several European countries with lakhs of people already been innoculated with the vaccine and also being injected regularly now as well, the Oxford AteraZeneca too had been approved by the United Kingdom on Wednesday.

After grant of quick approvals to Pfizer and Covishield of Oxford / Astrazeneca in UK, US n other countries of the world, India is also likely to grant them due approvals in the months of January after getting latest datas, update fact sheet reports and other important relevant documents with SII of Poona likely to get immediate approval in the next few days says a latest news report.

According to a report in HT, the Serum Institute of India has already been able to stockpile 75 million doses of Oxford/ AsteraZeneca Covid 19 vaccine and by the first week of January it will have 1 million doses.
