This year in May the forest fire is merely 5% in 81.16 Hectare area compared to last year fires in UK : CM Rawat

After the dissemination of information about forest fires in Uttarakhand in the social media especially twitter by several twitter account holders expressing their serious concern over the fires in Uttarakhand jungles every year including in 2020, the Forest Department of Uttarakhand has tweeted on its twitter handle terming these photographs of Uttarakhand fires 2020 as fake. The tweet says : Fake News of forest fire 2020 in Uttarakhand are being circulated in social media.

After verification of such news it has been found that these images are fake. Few such images are being uploaded by us. It is our request to kindly do not spread news. Not only this but the chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has also tweeted saying: A misleading propaganda using old pictures of forest fires of 2016 and 2019 and that of forest fires in Chilean & Chinese forests raging in SM. I request everyone not to believe on such motivated campaign. Fire incidents reported yesterday are far less than PY. Claiming that this years’ fire is just 5% than the last year fire, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat again tweeted : Pray for Uttarakhand for right reasons – Check how the old pictures of @ zeetv123 are being used to run the fake propaganda. Forest fire incidents is common in summer season. Fortunately until 26th May only 81.16 Hectare of area is under fire and this 5% of what was during the same period in the previous year.

Meanwhile Indian Police Service Officer Mr. Ashok Kumar has warned the rumour mongers in social media about fake fires in Uttarakhand forests directing them not to spread the fake n mischevious campaign / rumours failing which FIR would be launched against them and arrested.
