The threat of cancellation of the upcoming sports event amidst the global pandemic

A number of sports events are aligned after the Wimbledon Championship, all of which are on the verge of cancellation due to the expansion of coronavirus. Here’s the complete list of events that can be canceled or rescheduled:

MEN’S EVENT:

Canadian (Toronto) Masters (August 10th) – The government has called off all the events till June 30th. It is expected that this event will also be called off due to the virus.

Cincinnati Masters (October 11th) –  The country is under the state of lockdown till April 6th and is expected to be extended.

Paris Masters (November 2nd) – France is currently under complete lockdown. The numbers of cases are increasing rapidly, and the scheduled events are already called off.

ATP Next Gen Finals, Milan (November 10th) – Milan is the most affected area of Italy. It is in complete lockdown until the condition gets better.

ATP Finals, London –  Currently, the conventional halls are being converted into makeshift hospitals, so the scheduled events are canceled.

Madrid Davis Cup (November 29th) –  Spain is the second most affected country after Italy. Hence all the upcoming events are called-off.

WOMEN’S EVENTS

Montreal Premier 5 (August 10th) – The city is not under complete lockdown, but almost half of the deaths of Quebec are accounted in Montreal. So, it is expected to be canceled.

Cincinnati Premier 5 (August 27th) – The city is under complete lockdown.

Wuhan premier 5 (September 27th)– Wuhan being the birthplace of the coronavirus, has severe effects of it. Three-forth of total death cases of China is reported in Wuhan. The city is expected to be in lockdown for many weeks.

China Open (Beijing) Premier Mandatory (October 3rd)-  No new cases are reported in Beijing. The lockdown has been removed.

WTA Finals, Shenzhen (November 1st)- It was the second most affected state of China. The city is still in the state of lockdown.
