BCCI chief Saurav Ganguli again admitted in Apollo Hospital, to go for another stent

Former Indian skipper and president of BCCI Saurav Ganguly was again admitted in a Calcutta hospital on Wednesday after complaining of chest pain and cardiac complications. He was admitted in the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital Kolkata at 2.45 PM and was received at the emergency entrance gate by the cardiologists where the cricketer refused to go on stretcher preferring to walk up to his hospital room. After the necessary examination Saurav was advised for stenting probably on Thursday.

It may be recalled that on January 7 earlier Saurav Ganguly was admitted in Woodland hospital in Kolkata after he had complained of acute chest pain and breathing problems. His three heart arteries were then found to be blocked. However in January the BCCI president was operated and stent provided in one of the arteries with cardiologists advising for providing more stents in the near future.

In January after the successful angioplasty Saurav Ganguly was relieved after three days. But after two weeks he again developed chest congestion and pain and was admitted in Apollo Hospital of Kolkata on Wednesday.

According to the latest reports his condition is reported to be fine and stable with all vital parameters being completely stable.

In a brief statement issued by Apollo hospital it was stated that : Mr Saurav Ganguly, 48 years old male has come for the checkup of his cardiac condition. There is no change in his parameters since his last hospitalisation and his vital parameters are stable.

The union home minister Amit Shah and BJP in-charge of West Bengal Kailash Vijay Vargiya had enquired about his health including several other political dignitories of West Bengal n cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan and a close relative n MLA of the former BCCI chief Dalmiya etc.

According to the late evening health updates Ganguly was diagnosed with three blockages in heart arteries earlier following which he was provided with a stent in one of the blocked arteries. He was then advised to undergo more angioplasties in the near future.
