Satpal Maharaj detected Covid 19 positive

The former union minister of state for Railways n finance and currently the tourism, irrigation and culture minister of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj has been detected positive with Covid 19 contagious desease after his wife Amrita Rawat has been admitted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh after testing positive. Mrs. Amrita Rawat had been the cabinet minister during Congress rule in Uttarakhand in the past while Vijay Bahuguna n Harish Rawat were state CMs. About 41 persons many of them to be followers of Maharaj n his wife including family members and staff have also been quarantined earlier. The news regarding Satpal Maharaj’s testing positive has spread in the social media expeditiously. As per the tweet of renowned social activist of Uttarakhand Dr. Anoop Nautiyal : The tourism minister of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj has tested positive for Corona desease.

He had recently attended a cabinet meeting. Official confirmation awaited. This news has sent speculations that now perhaps the entire cabinet may be sent for Quarantine as a precautionary measure keeping in view the dreaded nature of the contagious pandemic. There have been quite a spurt in Covid 19 cases in the hilly state as the total figure of Covid 19 patients has now crossed 800 numbers. Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj had been very cautious since beginning and when the first case was witnessed in Uttarakhand he had started taking acute precautions like wearing masks, sanitising himself n maintaining distance . His colleagues even laughed when he attended the cabinet meeting in February wearing the mask with no one else wearing it say some news reports. It may be recalled that Satpal Maharaj has a vast following around the country n even abroad as a Guru of Manav Dharam Sammellan, highly reverred and respected.
