RISHIKESH TO Karnaprayag Railway project of Uttarakhand hills will boost tourism n business prospects

The over ambitious long standing, highly challenging Rishikesh Karnaprayag railway project which has finally seen the definite ray of hope n the light of the day likely to be completed in the near future though the total completion has been prefixed for 2024, would benefit hundreds of thousands of commuters from n outside Uttarakhand especially the curious Char Dham devotees n tourists from all over the world as well. In addition it will also enhance the business prospects in Uttarakhand apart from enhancing tourist traffic.

After 73 years of independence this 125 kilometres long railway journey over n under the Uttarakhand hills will be passing through the high tech build several tunnels n over bridges from its inception point Yognagari Rishikesh to Karnprayag thus reducing the 7 to 8 hours journey on vehicles to merely two hours.

The Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had visited the fully furnished railway station of Rishikesh and inspected the finishing work. This splendid railway station of Yoga Nagari Rishikesh will be formally inaugurated in the near future.

This environ friendly railway station has abundance of green plants n trees to compensate the hundreds of cut trees during the construction of this railway station.

The work on this railway line is going on with an expeditious pace with perfection using the latest technology.

COVERING THE DISTANCE OF 125 KILOMETRES IN MERELY TWO HOURS N FEW MINUTES, this entire railway route from Rishikesh to Karnprayag via several underground tunnels n few over ground railway track will pass through various prominent places in between connecting Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Dehradun, Gauchar, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal n Chamoli.

The total project cost is around Rs 16500 crore rupees which may probably escalate further keeping in view more future requirements.

The Railway Minister Piyush Goyal n chief minister Trivendra Singh Panwar has expressed the hope of early completion of the work on this route as the job is on fast track completion.

However, the total completion date has been fixed for 2024. While this railway line will enhance the business opportunities it will also increase the tourist traffic on a large scale with connecting people of five Uttarakhand districts. TO be run on an speed on hundred kilometres per hour apart from running on railway tracks underground the train on this line will also run partly on the Hight of 4, 760 feet on overground rail lines to be built on huge pillers.

According to RNVL, there will be 12 stations, 75 tunnels and 35 bridges, the construction work on which is in full swing. According to Wikipedia in addition to this, the Karnprayag – Sakot- Sonprayag Kedarnath Railway, has been notified as the project of national strategic importance of the India Railways as it’s one of the four constituent routes of the proposed Chardham Railway connecting the holiest Chota Chardham of Hinduism.

The

99 Kilometre route starts from Karnaprayag and ends at Sonprayag after covering 13 kilometres distance before Kedarnath.
