Rhea Chakraborty finally arrested, remanded to 14 days judicial custody

After several days of incessant interrogation by all the three investigating agencies viz CBI, enforcement directorate and narcotics control Bureau, the former girl friend of Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has been finally arrested today by NCB. She was arrested after five hours of grilling say the latest news reports. According to the NCB deputy director Mr. Malhotra who briefed the media Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested on the charges of dealing with drugs after her brother Showik n SSR’s manager Samuel Miranda had disclosed during in depth interrogation that on the instructions of Rhea they used to buy drugs for SSR the payment of which were allegedly made by her through the credit card of the deceased actor. She was arrested under Section ( 8C), 20 (B) 27 ( A) and 29 of NDPS act.

Rhea was produced by NCB in the Esplande Court and was remanded to 14 days judicial custody after her bail application was rejected.. Her advocate may apply tomorrow in sessions court for her bail.

Till now almost ten arrests have been made in connection with illegal drug deals connected to the suicidal death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Though no direct connection of any of these arrested accused pertaining to the alleged mysterious suicide have been ascertained till yet. The father of Rhea n Showik Chakraborty Colonel Indrajit Chakraborty who too was interrogated alongwith his wife two days ago by NCB officers had recently tweeted that after his son’s arrest now is the turn of her daughter Rhea. Meanwhile the advocate of Rhea Chakraborty Maneshinde has said that this is a punishment to a girl for loving his friend who was under depression n mentally ill having commited suicide after being medically treated by five psychiatrists allegedly having no role in his death.

The Narcotics Control Bureau after finding several clues during the investigations and subsequent arrests allegedly foresees to bust quite a big drug racket behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragedy say the news reports. The Enforcement Directorate, CBI n the NCB have collected lot of evidence from the chats of Rhea, Showik n Samuel Miranda about the alleged drug deals n purchases for SSR on Rheas’ instructions from various drug peddlers of Mumbai now under arrest by NCB. The NCB has after seeking the remand of Showik n Miranda including the drug peddlers of Mumbai n one Keshwani corroborated their statements on their unambiguous involvement in the drug deals though Rhea had clearly n catagorically denied about her consuming drugs ever.

The latest news updates also reveal that the NCB raided the house of Keshwani who supplied narcotics to drug peddlers, allegedly recovering Rs 1.85 lakhs including hashish etc during the raid. One of the drug peddlers have allegedly agreed during investigations about Keshwani supplying him drugs sold further to Showik n Miranda etc. What’s important in this whole development is that while a drug angle has been found during the investigations there is no clue of anyone’s direct or indirect involvement in Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious suicidal death despite allegations of SSR’s father n near relatives about his being allegedly murdered.

It may be recalled that Rhea Chakraborty had been grilled for approximately more than sixty hours during the last several days by CBI n NCB with mediamen, especially cameramen n reporters of electronics channels literally mobbing while emerging out of her house n entering or coming out of the NCB odfice after interrogation every day. Her brother Showik n Samuel Miranda have been remanded by Esplande Court till September 9 being interrogated by NCB in their custody.
