Prominent Comedian Bharti arrested by NCB after 86.5 grams Cannabis unearthed from her Mumbai house

The Narcotics Control Bureau investigations that commenced after the Enforcement Directorate’s whatsapp clues led to several Bollywood actors involved in the consumption and deals of narcotics, interrogating and arresting Rhea Chakravorthy n several others, including her brother Showik and the team mates of deceased Bollywood star SSR has today summoned prominent comedian of TV industry n reality shows like popular Kapil Sharma n dance shows for interrogation in connection with the narcotics’ Cannabis, though in little quantity, found from their Mumbai residence in a raid by NCB sleuths conducted in Mumbai today.

She has been arrested by NCB n the investigations n interrogations of her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa are still in progress.

This raid was conducted by the NCB after getting a clue from a drug peddler under the agency’s custody being interrogated.

Initially Bharti didn’t allowed the NCB sleuths enter her house and resisted them initially but later on she had to relent allowing them to do their official duty.

Recently, another prominent Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and his foreign girl friend were also summoned to the NCB Mumbai office and grilled for seven long hours after narcotics was found in a raid conducted at his residence, despite Rampal denying about his involvement in this shabby affair.

The prominent Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and renowned actor Saif Ali Khan’s sister, actress, Sara Ali Khan and the daughter of actress Amrita Singh was also interrogated by the NCB earlier, including SSR’s girl friend, Rhea Chakraborty who has now been released on bail, with her brother still behind bar.

Comedian actor Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa are both anchors of various humourous reality shows of Television industry like a popular Dance show n Sony’s Kapil Sharma Show.

According to the latest news reports Bharti Singh has been arrested by NCB under the psychotropic Drugs n Substances Act 1985 after 86.5 grams of banned cannabis was allegedly recovered from her n husband Limbachiyaa’s Mumbai residence and both of them accepting to its consumption which is a crime as per NDPS Act. The interrogation of her husband is underway.

After Bharti’s arrest, the Kapil Sharma popular show would miss her as she carried a vast following of her fans behind her.

It may be recalled that just a few days ago Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal alongwith her foreign origin girl friend were summoned by NCB after cannabis was found in her residence as well, in Mumbai, during the raid by NCB.

Her girl friend’s brother is already in the custody of NCB n the clue given by him during interrogation led to Rampal and her girl friend’s interrogation n raid at their Mumbai residence.

Prominent Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Bollywood producer Nadiadwala n his wife, Deepika’s secretary, Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and SSR’s team mates had already been interrogated with Rhea n few others on bail, while Showik still under arrest.

Till now about twenty persons, majority of them drug peddlers, have been arrested by NCB till yet.

Under the NDPS act 1985, the maximum sentence is of ten years with rigorous punishment under various stringent sections of IPC n can be extended to twenty years, depending on the quantum of the narcotics seized.
