There is allegedly tremendous resentment amongst the students n youths in Uttarakhand especially the student n youth activists belonging to the Congress party’s front students’ organisation – National students Union of India against the union minister of Human Resource Development n former chief minister of Uttarakhand Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank for his recent decision of holding the final examinations of Hemwati Garhwal University Colleges from first September onwards terming it as an anti student decision especially during the deadly pandemic Corona 19 apprehensive of becoming the victim of the deadly disease.
The furious students n NSUI office bearers n activists registered their strong protest by holding a protest demonstration at Congress’s state headquarter in Dehradun called Rajiv Bhawan finally immolating his EFFIGY .
The furious n antagonized protesting students were raising anti government n anti HRD minister’s slogans demanding revocation of the orders to hold the exams from 2st September.
According to the press release the General Secretary of Uttarakhand State National Students Union of India Vikas Negi said that the NSUI outrightly opposes the recent decision of the union HRD minister to hold the final exams on 1st September onwards especially when the dreaded Covid 19 Pandemic is on its peak surging further ahead.
While terming this decision as anti student community – NSUI’s Uttarakhand state general secretary Vikas Negi posed two questions to the union minister urging him to cancell his orders in this regard.
He asked : Will his decision not lead to the spread of this Contagion Covid 19 among the students n will it not infect the last semester students in the OMR examinations ?
In view of the long lasting demand of NSUI n ongoing pandemic ,Vikas Negi urged upon the union HRD minister Dr. Nishank Pokhriyal to withdraw his decision and promote the students to next year keeping in view their academic career prospects n the genuine reasons behind it, in mind.
Apart from Vikas Negi, State NSUI other prominent participants in the protest demonstration were state NSUI secretary Ajay Rawat, Prakash Negi, Ujjwal Semwal, Ajay Saini Mukul Saurabh Joshi, Kanishk Bhandari n others.
