Delhi CM appeals not to buy Plasma illegally, we’ll get the matter investigated. Delhi has sufficient plasma

There had been several complaints in Delhi that plasma is allegedly being sold illegally n in exorbitant price in the capital where some organised gangs have become extremely active.

The relatives of the severe patients suffering from Covid 19 had no option but to go for the illega purchase of Plasma at exorbitant to fetch few units of Plasma. A prominent TV news channel had on Wednesday conducted a sting operation to expose this racket selling plasma illegally to the needy patients even allegedly charging Rs. five lakhs etc in some cases.

While the poor patients could not afford to bear this huge amount those hailing from rich n affluent families had no option but to part with huge amount to buy plasma to save the lives of their Covid 19 patients. In some cases even those who can’t afford have to buy it confronting several ups n downs.

After hearing about the news of this arbitrary Plasma sale in Delhi, may be after acknowledging the tip off from some reliable sources or getting complaints, the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival has assured Delhites of initiating stringent measures in this regard by stopping this illegal practice and penalising those responsible in such illegal acts. He said that this would be stopped and plasma supply assured to the victims requiring the same as Delhi still has more than 500 units of Plasma.

He catagorically appealed to people not to buy plasma illegally, they’ll get it from the plasma banks. He said that the government will stop this illegal practice n would launch an enquiry into this whole impasse.

He catagorically appealed to the people not to buy plasma illegally n the government will do everything possible to stop this menace by investigating it n taking stringent measures against the guilty.

However, the fact remains that such blackmarketing of Plasma happens only when there is shortage of Plasma supplies.

I have seen number of posts of Covid 19 patients in social media demanding Plasma and the message goes viral.

Had there been no shortage of plasma, there is no point of such requests floating in social media.

The chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejrival had been in the recent past, been repeatedly requesting in social media n his press conferences to donate plasma generously as it will save the lives of other Covid 19 patients.

Plasma is donated by those Covid 19 patients who have been recovered. After one to two month of recovery they are medically eligible for donating the plasma which is used to cure other Covid 19 patients admitted in hospitals n desperately requiring the same to undergo Convalascent Plasma Therapy.

The assurance of the chief minister to deal with the illegal plasma sellers charging exhorbitantly is a good news. He has also assured that every patient requiring plasma would be supplied the same at the earliest as the government has 500 units of plasma till now.

It may be recalled that there are currently two plasma banks in Delhi viz at Lok Nayak hospital n Billiary Sciences n Liver Hospital, Vasant Kunj, Delhi.
