Indian Youth Congress protests against rising prices of petrol, diesel and LPG gas cylinders.

17 February 2021, New Delhi: The Indian Youth Congress on Wednesday protested against the rising prices of petrol, diesel and LPG gas cylinders at Connaught Place, Outer Circle. On this occasion, activists of the Youth Congress rode bicycles and wore cricket kits exhibiting glimpses of a century of petrol and diesel. By robbing the people, the BJP led NDA government is focusing only on the development of the capitalists accused the national IYC president BV Shriniwas.

Terming the present NDA government an anti people, the Youth Congress said that by increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinders again, the Modi government has made it absolutely clear that it has nothing to do with the problems of the common people.

National Indian Youth Congress, president Srinivas B.V. said that the Modi government has resulted in an expensive government as the common people are badly hit by inflation, petrol and diesel prices in view of its incessant skyrocketing prices despite the low prices of crude oil in the international market.

He added that the BJP led NDA government is punishing the people who were already burning in the fire of inflation by continuously increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinders. Cylinder prices have increased by ₹75 within the last 14 days n it is a pity for the Modi government that a new record is being set in the prices of petrol and diesel.

Blaming the union government of increasing the prices of petro products repeatedly putting the lived of poor people in jeopardy the IYC leader said that the BJP govt has increased the excise duty over diesel by 8 times and 2.5 times over petrol during its tenure of just six years since 2014.

By changing the structure of excise duty, the government has now come out with a new way, that is a cess of ₹2.5 and ₹4 per liter of petrol and diesel which means that it will not be shared with the states added the IYC chief Shriniwas.

The central government will keep this money alone. Modi ji has made such a dent in the budget of the housewifes and the common man that they are unable to cope with it. Modi government has sought ‘opportunity in disaster’ to fill it’s pocket, ‘Modi hai to Mehngai hai’. If the common man speaks against these skyrocketing prices, then they will be called anti nationals he added

National media In-charge of the Indian Youth Congress Rahul Rao, said that this government has no understanding of the economy. Inflation is already increasing. The price of gas cylinders and petrol-diesel, which is on fire, will increase inflation further. We demand that the increased prices should be withdrawn with immediate effect and the increase in excise duty should be brought back to provide relief to the masses suffering from inflation and recession.

IYC National Secretary and Delhi Pradesh Co-Incharge Khushboo Sharma, National Secretary Mukesh Kumar, Delhi Youth Congress Vice President Ranvijay Singh Lochav, Shubham Sharma and several other Delhi Youth Congress workers were present in the protest demonstration said the IYC press release. The youth Congress activists were also arrested for defying the prohibitory orders imposed at Rajiv Chowk.
