Fine doubled to Rs 1000 n curfew from 10 to 5 in the morning in Punjab

Keeping in view the increasing cases of Covid 19 cases in Punjab with total tally going to 148 thousand and 4653 mortalities, the chief ministers mister Captain Amrinder Singh has made the curbs more stringent with doubling the fine on not wearing masks to Rs 1000 from Rs 500 taking a cue from Delhi where there have been four fold increase to Rs 2000 from Rs 500. The chief minister has also issued official directives to close all the hotel and restaurants at sharp 9.30 and curfew in whole of Punjab from 10.00 PM to early morning 5.00 AM from 1st December.

In addition he has also directed the chief secretary to ensure that all these orders are serious followed n implemented with no leniency including improvement n enhancement in the numbers of beds n ICUs in all the private n government hospitals of Punjab with enhancement in the number of RTPCR tests on daily basis raising them to 25500 numbers. However compared to the states like Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh n Tamil Nadu, Punjab is comparatively in quite better position but being closer to Haryana n Delhi with NCRs around the situation in Punjab needs to be taken care of more carefully. In a tweet Punjab CM Captain Amrinder Singh wrote: Considering the rise in # Covid 19 cases we have decided to impose night curfew from 10.00 PM to 5.00 PM starting first December. We are also doubling the fines for not wearing masks n not giving observing social distancing. Urge my fellow Punjabies to follow all precautions against the pandemic.
