Domestic flights to resume from 25th May

While the entire electronics media is running news about the buses controversy in Uttar Pradesh holding debates on politics being played by Congress and BJP leaders on this issue especially after Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on behalf of her party offered to pay the fare for one thousand buses to lift thousands of stranded labourers to their native places of UP, the union minister of Civil Aviation Hardip Singh Puri has disclosed through a tweet that despite the extended lockdown till 31st May, the union government is recommencing the domestic civil aviation operations from all the Airports of the country in a caliberated manner.

The government on Wednesday announced that the domestic flight operations, held up since the last week of March due to Covid 19 pandemic would be restarted in a caliberated manner from May 25th.

The information was given through a tweet in his twitter handle by the union Civil Aviation minister Hardev Singh Puri today morning in which he added that all airports and the air carriers were being informed to begin the operations from next week onwards. SOPs for passenger movement will also be separately issued by the Civil Aviation ministry.

It may be recalled that despite the extention of lockdown till May 31st there have been relaxation in the entire country with regulations keeping in view the nature of severity of the pandemic.

Train services have also been opened partially including buses n other mode of tranports subject to implementation of prescribed norms by the union government with Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival demanding from the central government to start 200 trains to ferry thousands of stranded migrants to their destinations at the pan India level.

However, a day before the union minister of Civil Aviation Hardev Singh Puri had already given hints about the recomencement of the domestic air services in the country closed since the last week of March when the prime minister Narendra Modi had announced the first phase of lock down.

After the re- commencement of domestic air services it remains to be seen as to how much precaution is really exercised to keep the Covid 19 under control especially in view of the terrible spike yesterday.
