Uttarakhand HC makes Covid 19 testing n Quarantine mandatory for visitors in UK

The Uttarakhand High Court in Nainital has today strongly reprimanded the Secretary and Director General of state Health Services for imitating the other states of the country to counter pandemic Covid 19 than to take vital decisions and credible actions or regulations on the basis of the prevalent medical conditions and health services of the state.

The Justice of High Court today while taking serious view of the spike in pandemic in the state, especially about complaints of enhanced cases after the visit of inhabitants to their native places from other states, issued strict and stringent orders to the the state govt’s health department to conduct thermal testing, Corona Rapid testing and Atigent testings on all the Uttarakhandies visiting the state from other states and should be quarantined for 14 days at the state’s border before being sent to their respective homes.

While hearing the petition filed in the Uttarakhand High Court, Nainital via Video conferencing against the direct stay in their homes of the visitors from other states without being tested or quarantined, the High Court justice while strongly reprimanding the Health secretary and Director General for lapses in this context, issued immediate orders for Thermal, Rapid and Atigen Testings of all the visitors in Uttarakhad and quarantining them at the border itself for 14 days before being sent to their respective homes.

It may be recalled that the Uttarakhand hill state called abode of Gods with extreme greenery and fresh environment is today inflicted with 120 cases of Covid 19 infections according to the tweet of Dr. Anoop Nautiyal.

Meanwhile, the chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat after holding an important meeting with IG police and other senior offers including district magistrates has issued immediate instructions to all DMs to initiate strict actions against those defying the home quarantine rules.

He asked the DMs to pay Gram Pradhans 5 thousand rupees each to maintain cleanliness n sanitisation of the quarantine centres in their respective Gram Sabhaas’.

The administrative officers at the block n district levels of the state have been asked to be in contact with these village heads.

A renowned social activist of Uttarakhand and the former DG of Ambulance services 108 in Uttarakhand Anoop Nautiyal has revealed that till May 18 Uttarakhand state tested 119 cases in per lakh population. Where as in comparison, the strife torn J n K state has 726 (+6 more) , Tripura 386, and Himachal 264 testings in per lakh population in comparison to UK.

This clearly indicates that Uttarakhand is quite below in testing cases as compared to the above states despite making so much of tall claims.

Mr. Anoop Nautiyal further added that in all Uttarakhand today has total 120 cases with 53 recoveries n 66 active cases. But there had been a rapid jump of nine cases in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora and Nainital recently after the influx of outsiders.
