Despite winters Delhi’s one day Covid cases come down to merely 306 numbers. Quite a satisfying situation.

It seems to be a highly satisfying Covid 19 situation in the national capital that despite warnings of the Coronavirus cases likely to go up multiply during the winters Delhi recorded merely 306 Covid cases in the last 24 hours on Monday sending quite a soothing message to 1.35 crore Delhites , thanks to the precautionary measures being adopted by Delhi citizens and subsequent medical treatment and monitoring of the disease etc. This eighth time less that five hundred count of Covid 19 cases in the month of January till today is indeed a beyond expectation infection count in Delhi which had been the second highest Covid 19 infective state in the country galloping from the eighth position nationally having about 6.3 lakh Coronavirus cases at present with total 10,666 ongoing epidemic fatalities. However, thirteen patients of Covid 19 have succumbed to this dreaded pandemic during the past 24 hours, still a factor/ reason to be worrisome. The other day health minister of national Capital territory of Delhi Dr. Satyendra Jain commended the services of medical staff of the capital’s hospital tweeting : Our medical staff has played the most important role during Covid. From putting their lives at stake to cure others to act as a backbone for the patients who combated the disease as well as the stigma. We will be forever grateful to these @ Heroes of The Frontline tweeted Delhi’s health minister.

The health minister has also said that the positivity rate of Delhites had been below one percent mark during the last several days. This meant that the Covid 19 spike is tremendously lessening in Delhi showing a marked improvement in the pandemic situation. The Delhi government had earlier also issued instructions to control the cases of mutated strain emerging from UK n some African countries by getting all those landing at Delhi Airport to get themselves tested there on their self costs of RTPCR n if found tested shall be sent in institutional quarantine and those even made it mandatory for those testing negative to go in for institutional quarantine for seven days and thereafter in 7 days home isolation. At present there are thirteen cases of mutated strain of SARS- CoV 2 in Delhi with majority of patients being asymptomatic as revealed by the doctors of Jai Prakash Narayan hospital where these patients are admitted. According to a TOI report more than sixty returnees from United Kingdom and their direct contacts who had tested positive for Covid 19 were admitted to Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan hospital in Delhi. There is apprehension about the mutated strain having worrisome positivity rate thus confirming the fears of its possible transmissibility. The swab samples of of such patients have been sent for genome sequencing said the doctors of LNJP hospital. It may be recalled that the Monday’s 306 infected Covid 19 cases have been detected from the total 56,390 tests conducted on Sunday.
