The national general secretary of Congress and member , Congress Working Committee Randeep Singh Surjewala today assailed the Haryana chief minister Mr. Khatter accusing him of depriving the students of poor, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes sections of the state to pursue MBBS and become doctors in future thus breaking their dreams by enhancing the fees to Rs forty lakhs.

He termed the LATEST decision of the Khatter- Dushyant government of Haryana a “TUGLAKI FARMAAN”, razing to ground their long aspiring ambition to become doctors in the near future.

Randeep Singh Surjewala has posted a vedio on his Twitter handle castigating Haryana CM Khatter n Dushyant Choutala with tweets condemning the anti poor, anti Dalit and anti backward class students’ related BJP govt’s latest decision killing their dreams to become doctors in the near future after raising the MBBS fees in Government Medical Colleges to Rs forty lakhs in order to oblige the private colleges’ management of the state.

In his tweet Randeep Singh Surjewala wrote : The government of Khatter has broken the dreams of sons n daughters of the poor to become doctors.

A new TUGLAKI FARMAAN – in government medical colleges, the MBBS fees have be enhanced to Rs. 40 lakhs per student. This decision of the Khatter- government have been issued to help the private medical colleges of the state. He has also tagged a two page letter highlighting the grievances of the medical students hailing from the poor, down trodden and the SC,ST communities of the state whose career to become MBBS doctors have been crushed for ever.

In his two page press release as well as a detailed vedio message Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala has while strongly condemning the anti poor, anti SC ST students decision of chief minister of Haryana Mr. Khatter has accused him of enhancing the MBBS fees at such a critical juncture when there are literally no jobs in the country and Haryana witnessing around 33.5% unemployment under the BJP rule. Accusing the Khatter- government of anti student n youth attitude Surjewala said that while the Haryana government has not yet investigated the ongoing scholarship scam of the state the BJP government has also stopped the new scholarship scheme of the scheduled caste students including non penalisation of the culprits responsible for the leakage of more than 14 question papers of Haryana State Staff Selection Commission. Not only this but the all the government jobs in the state have been closed he added.

While strongly condemning the BJP government of Haryana Randeep Singh Surjewala said that now the state CM Khattar has also deprived the dedicated n aspiring medical students of backward n scheduled class communities of becoming MBBS doctors by raising their admission fees of government medical colleges to whopping Rs 40 lakhs in order to benefit the proprietors of private colleges of the state. Giving the details of the enhanced medical fees Randeep Singh Surjewala said that earlier the per student annual fee of a medical student used to be Rs 53 thousand and additional expenses of Rs 15 to 20 thousands for hostel n other expenses but now the annual fee has been enhanced to Rs Rs 10 lakh for each year which comes to Rs 40 lakh for the four year MBBS studies as per the latest government’s notification.

According to the notification a student will have to pay about four lakh rupees from his pocket and will have to bear the loan of Rs 37 lakhs to be given by the bank for the four year MBBS course.

The interest on this borrowed education loan at the rate of seven percent for 4 years comes to about Rs 55 lakhs says Senior Congress leader Surjewala.

He added that while in private colleges the four year fees per student is Rs 15 to 18 lakhs but in government colleges the MBBS fees with interest on bank loans is Rs 55 lakhs. This has resulted in depriving the poor students of becoming doctors in future as a poor n SC,ST students who earlier became fulfledged doctors at the expense of merely three lakh rupees will have to pay Rs 40 lakhs n with interest on bank loan Rs 55 lakhs.

While strongly condemning this arbitrary decision of the Haryana government, Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala urged upon the Haryana CM to revoke this anti poor n SC,ST MBBS students decision with immediate effect failing which he has no right to continue as the chief minister of Haryana.
