Class 2 student brutally killed by maneater in Bhikiasain after a mutilated body of a priest found in Kaljikhal block jungles

While on the one hand dreaded incidents of Covid 19 mortalities are being reported in Uttarakhand with its total number reaching 428, the terror of maneater leopards in Garhwal and Kumaon regions of Uttarakhand has compelled the inhabitants of these maneater affected areas to stay indoors with the forest n wild life departments despite trying their best looking hapless to come to the rescue of these terror stricken families badly disturbed due to unpredictable predators’ attacks killing brutally children, women n the senior citizens.

There have been two incidents of man eater attacks brutally killing an adolescent girl yesterday and at Bhikiasain and two days ago a priest in Kaljikhal block’s Patti Mayarsiun with both victims mutilated dead bodies found in the nearby jungles in a decomposed position after they have been dragged several metres away from their residence. However, the death of the priest is being investigated by the local police to ascertain if it is a maneater killing or a murder, but the locals allegedly apprehend it the maneater killing as there have been attacks on human in the recent past.

According to a latest news report a little girl studying in class second in God Grace Academy primary school near Madigaon in Bhikhiyasain, hardly eight years old, was brutally killed by a man-eater whose dead body with grievous wounds was found in a nearby jungle after being dragged by the predator.

The aggrieved family members n the local populace are badly angered and furious demanding death to the maneater Leopard.

Similarly two days ago a temple priest deployed in a temple in Manyarsiun Patti of Kaljikhal block under the jurisdiction of Pauri Garhwal was brutally killed by a maneater though not confirmed yet, after his highly decomposed n badly mutilated dead body was found in a nearby jungle.

The maneater killings in various parts of Uttarakhand has become an order of the day with daily killings of maneater attacks becoming the newspaper headlines almost every day

In two month’s time in addition to the priest’s killing, there had been four fatalities due to these carnivores’ attack who are in regular prowl for human flesh with two kills of adolescents ( girls) in Chamoli, a thirty year old woman in Maletha village precincts, an attack on four persons including a Forester and brutal killing of a labourer at Dev Prayag, Garhwal, with his decomposed half eaten body found in the nearby jungle.

Few months ago a maneater was killed by government appointed hunters Joy Hukil n Lakhpat Singh in Chamoli district n another in Almora n Pithoragarh, Kumaon by Nawab Saifi Saifi Asif of Bijnaur, Rajiv Solomon of Muradabad n Harish Dhami of Nainital after several humans were killed including children giving relief to the local inhabitants but the carnage still continues.

Sources reveal that in Pauri Garhwal district n in Almora, Bhikiasain, Pithoragarh, Nainital etc several maneaters are active posing direct threat to the populace who go indoors during evening hours even before sunset. These man-eaters are in regular prowl for human flesh even in broad day light having tasted human blood in view of the dearth of domestic animals n other prey inside jungles n nearly areas.
