Anti Covid vaccine procurement efforts on full swing

There is a huge competition amongst the countries of the world to grab orders for the anti Covid 19 vaccines at the earliest in order to take the lead as the deadly Pandemic is not showing any signs of being controlled with nearly eight lakh cases of Covid 19 mortalities witnessed globally including more than fifty thousands in India. Even the capital city of Delhi witnessed the total tally of 1.53 lakh cases with 4196 Covid 19 fatalities.

Though about 150 anti Covid 19 vaccine candidates are desperately on the job to come out with its vaccine at the earliest globally, 21 of them are nearer to formally achieving the goal.

The Sputnik V anti Covid vaccine, the first to get registered in the world as announced by the Russian President Vladimir Putin has however generated quite a confidence n ray of hope globally despite several reservations by its competitive anti Covid vaccine inventors especially UK n USA but this arrival has definitely compelled other vaccine candidate producers to expedite their efforts.

In India too which has crossed the twenty one lakh numbers in terms of contracting Corona virus disease , with around fifty thousand mortalities, expeditious efforts are on to make necessary arrangements to procure the Vaccine at the earliest in view of the increasing cases of uncontrollable pandemic in India.

According to the press release issued on Monday which confirmed the high level meeting of the expert committee attended by the union health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Indian Council of Medical Research director general Dr. Balram Bhargavi, department of bio technology secretary Renu Swaroop, union health secretary Rajesh Bhushanthe Niti Ayog member health V. K. Paul and department of pharmaceutical secretary PD Vaghela with all the manufacturers of Anti Covid 19 vaccine viz Serum Institute of Puna, Bharat Biotech Hyderabad, Zydac Caddila Ahmedabad, Genova Pharma critical Pune, n Biological, Hyderabad, the deliberations were extremely significant n mutually beneficial which provided National Expert Group with inputs about the present stage of various candidate vaccines being developed by Indian pharmaceutical companies as well as their expectations from the union government.

Though Russia has come out with its anti Covid vaccine Sputnik V registered on 12th August with successful trials including one on the daughter of the Russian President Putin, having undergone the trial successfully, the United Kingdom and USA’s Oxford AstraZeneca and Moderna are considered to be the front runners with their third trial going on on a mass scale after the resounding success of human trial, one n two.

The Indian Puna based pharmaceutical company Serum institute has the contract to manufacture the above bulk vaccines with AstraZeneca.

In India Bharat Biotech Hyderabad n Ahmedabad based Zydac Cadillac are also active on conducting human trials on the Anti Covid vaccine Covaxin at eleven trial centres including at AIIMS etc.

The government is trying its level best to procure these vaccines’ after they are ready at the earliest.

Keeping in view the India’s massive population and the widespread Pandemic having crossed twenty lakh numbers with the surge of approximately fifty five to sixty thousand Covid 19 cases on daily basis, the need to procure anti Covid 19 vaccine at the earliest has become extremely inevitable and the government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the early procurement of the vaccine as n when it is ready.

According to the latest news among the countries of the world Germany n Israel too are closer to devising this vaccine n India is looking forward to place orders from these countries as well.
