A huge building comes up in place of ASHIRVAD, earlier Kaka’s bungalow after it was sold for 90 crores

A tall fascinating building, giving a look of a boutique hotel or a corporate house posted by one Nauzer Bharucha on his FB wall enticing lots of comments from the first n original super star of millenium Rajesh Khanna’s die hard fans , has come up on sea facing Kartar Road where till two years ago existed ASHIRVAD, the magnificent Bungalow of Rajesh Khanna bought by him from another Bollywood star know as Jubiliee Kumar , Rajendra Kumar. This tall building is a house not a hotel reveal sources.

Legendary actor Rajendra Kumar had bought it from one time legendary actor Bharat Bhushan who was the first owner of this magnificent Bungalow but had to sell due to his suffering from acute financial crisis who had to stay in a Mumbai Chawl, after confronting heavy losses.

A first n original superstar n heart throb of millions Rajesh Khanna purchased this house after he found it quite fascinating n lucky too as the saying goes while Silver Jubilee Rajendra Kumar too was in financial mess.

Kaka bought this Bungalow for probably Rupees ten lakhs from Rajendra Kumar, after demanding the advance payment from the South Indian producer of HAATHI MERE SATHI, which was signed despite his unwillingness but after its producer agreed to pay him a good amount in advance, which he paid to Rajendra Kumar to but ASHIRVAD.

The earlier name of this Bungalow was DIMPLE, Rajendra Kumar’s daughter, later in changed to AASHIRVAAD by Kaka as the former urged the later to change its name. Kaka furnished the bungalow with great charm n interest fitting it with silver studded sofas n beds etc n bringing several television sets from abroad fitted in this Bungalow when there were hardly colour televisions in India including lot of expensive decorative material.

His bungalow, its rooms, interiors n even bathrooms gave an immensely fascinating look with gracious colourful decoration n settings. Kaka had a hearty wish to convert it into the museum of first Bollywood superstar, the wish he had made in one of his television interview as well, but unfortunately after his sad demise it was sold to one Shetty of Dubai who bought it for Rs 93 Crores in White.

The entire last wish of Kaka and his millions of die hard fans finally got crushed when the family sold it n ASHIRVAD demolished within no time, a historic bungalow in sea facing Balcony of which Kaka used to appear to greet his fans who curiously waited for his glimpse for hours together.

A first super star n an actor par excellence Kaka who gave super duper hit 15 back to back BLOCKBUSTRE movies from 1969 to 71, having acted in about 190 movies as Hero, died in 2012 in the month of July suffering from cancer ( liver sirrhosis) sending shock waves across the country n globe among his millions of followers n fans.

Kaka was also member of parliament from New Delhi from Congress party in 1992 when he defeated BJP candidate Shatrughan Sinha after being defeated by merely 1500 votes by BJP heavy weight Lal Krishna Advani.

During Kaka’s heydays as Superstar in seventies n eighties it was in front of this very ASHIRVAD that hundreds of thousands of his fans , especially the college going girls n fans from all over India used to wait for him for hours together for his minutest of glimpse.

It is said that his Impala used to get get converted into pink or red colour after the numerous kisses of the girls in his absence.

Ashirwad had lots of reminiscences of Kaka from his heydays to his downfall from becoming the first superstar of Bollywood to an actor with literally no roles as Kaka has once said in one of his media interviews about his fall from the Mount Everest to the ground. It was the same ASHIRVAD which saw long queues of eager producers n directors during his hey days of seventies n eighties waiting to sign him anxiously for their films with hundreds of fans waiting for his minutest glimpse from the Balcony. With the vanishing Bungalow which was his only last wish to convert it into a museum of his priceless reminiscences it seems as if the first n original superstar’s hearty wish has been doomed forever.
