146 cases of Corona in Uttarakhand. 26 cases go up in 2 days

Though compared to the Covid 19 cases in other states of the country, in Uttarakhand the numbers are quite less but keeping in view the sudden spike the people and those at the helm of affairs are equally worried.

Just yesterday there were news reports about spike of 14 cases in a day i.e. till 3.00 PM but what is more worrisome is the fact that fourteen more cases of Corona infections were reported from Uttarakhand after the release of the health bulletin yesterday at 3.00 PM.

The figure of 132 cases had gone to 146 till yesterday night terming it as a steep jump as per the tweet of Uttarakhand’s renowned social activist and former DG of 108 bulletin services Anoop Nautiyal.

As per the tweet of Dr. Nautiyal yesterday evening : 14 more cases, four from Bageshwar, three from Uttarkashi, two each from Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar and one from Almora reported in 8 PM bulletun. Uttarakhand reaches 146 cases. Quite a steep jump.

There are also reports that the state has witnessed 30% drop in the last ten days in recovery rate of Covid 19 cases. Uttarakhand has witnessed the spike in Corona cases in the last few days especially after the state health authorities proved negligent and complascent in dealing with the people returning home from other states by allegedly neither properly testing them nor sending to 14 days quarantine.

The high court of Uttarakhand had to intervene on the PIL and instruct the secretary and DG health services of Uttarakhand to make three tests mandatory on the outside visitors in the state and putting them to 14 days Quarantine in the border vicinity before allowing them to reach their respective homes .

The High Court order summarised three action points : Border Quarantine, Rapid anti body tests for surveillance ( not diagnostic), Using of Elisa Kits for surveillance.

It may be recalled that about 1.87 Uttarakhandies stranded outside the state in various parts of the country had got themselves registered last week in the Uttarakhand government’s website to be ferried to Uttarakhand and thousands have come back n others in pipeline.
