Yogi Adityanath in Uttarakhand for Kedarnath n Badrinath darshans

The historic Gangotri Temple has been closed for Darshan today in view of the unbearable winters, not prone for healthy living for pilgrims, situated at around 10,200 feet above sea level, at the banks of river BHAGIRATHI.

The Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was present on the occasion of performance of “Annkoot Goverdhan Puja” during the noon at 12 PM. About merely 24000 pilgrims came to Gangotri during the pandemic period due to Covid 19.

Meanwhile the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath today visited Uttarakhand and was received by the the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at Jolly Grant Airport Rishikesh. From Rishikesh both the chief ministers went to Kedarnath where they have participated in rituals n prayers of Lord Shiva ( Baba Kedar) on Sunday and would be present at the time of closure of Kedarnath temple celebrations n spiritual proceedings when it will be closed for the entire winter season.

On Monday UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Trivendra Singh Rawat would also perform Puja and see off the Kedarnath Doli to Ukhimath during the closure of Kedarnath Temple. From here Yogi Adityanath and Trivendra Singh Rawat will reach Badrinath Temple situated near the Indo China border precincts and offer prayers.

The process of the closure of four historic shrines Gangotri,Yamnotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath during the winters have started from today. In a tweet Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat wrote: The doors of globally famed Gangotri Shrine were closed for winters on the occassion of Annkoot Goverdhan puja. During this year about 23,500 pilgrims visited this temple. Hail Mother Ganges tweeted TS Rawat, CM Uttarakhand.
