Will Arvind Kejrival’s AAP click in Uttarakhand in 2022 elections ?

AFTER the declaration by Aam Admi Party’s national convenor n Delhi’s three time chief minister Arvind Kejrival regarding the party’s final decision to contest on all the 70 assembly seats of Uttarakhand in 2022 , while its Uttarakhand leaders have tightened their belts to strongly confront the BJP and Congress in the hilly region , come what may, the leaders of these two national parties, ruling the state turn by turn since the year 2000, after Uttarakhand gained its separate entity viz BJP n Congress, are in a state of fix fearing as to which party’s votes’ share would be invaded by this new possible third force of the state which has defeated both BJP n Congress in India’s capital for the third consecutive term.

There is no doubt that the geographical and political conditions of Uttarakhand is quite different from Delhi and giving a direct challenge to both these parties having deep roots in Uttarakhand’s socio political scenerio is definitely not an easy task especially when regional political outfits like Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has not been able to win more than 4 seats despite its tremendous n sole contribution in generating a widespread movement finally achieving the separate state after so much of sacrifices.

However, despite all this, after the successful performance of AAP in NCT of Delhi in terms of upgradation of health services, introduction of quality education by dramatically upgrading the government schools status, free electricity up to 200 units, free drinking water, free home delivery of ration at doorsteps n several other concessions, the political morale of AAM AADMI Party is quite on a high keel with its dedicated workers n local leaders taking on both the Congress n BJP vigorously in Uttarakhand.

According to sources the high spirited Aam Admi Party’s central and state leaderships are these days in desperate search of a capable personality either political leader, senior retired army officer or a capable bureaucrat carrying behind him a significant reputation with a record of impeccable integrity tag for the post of their prospective CM of Uttarakhand to be projected during elections.

The party had earlier made several efforts to approach the disenchanted leaders in both BJP n Congress to join it n take the cudgels in their hands but after these leaders refused, the party high command is in search of an all accepted personality who can click appropriately giving great rebuff to Congress as well as the BJP in Uttarakhand.

AAP , these days is also enticing several leaders of different political parties at lower levels as well as prominent social figures interested to join them in addition to holding several press conferences n protest demonstrations in the state highlighting the ruling BJP’s drawbacks n inefficiencies to the fore including pasting hundreds of thousands of posters highlighting Kejrival’s achievements in Delhi with his picture, assuring to replicate them in Uttarakhand.

On the other hand the BJP is suffering from intercine squabbles including the implications of anti incumbency factor due to being in power n not so efficient n up to the mark performance of the present CM n his cabinet colleagues including buaeucracy on various fronts viz unemployment, deteriorating health sector, poor educational system of the state n prevalent corruption etc except promoting it’s liquor policy to generate enormous money to bridge the deficit financing gap to some extent inviting the disenchantment of house hold women n others

The illegal mining , builder n land mafias too are allegedly flourishing by leaps n bounds annoying the common masses compounded by uncontrolled Covid 19 cases in the state.

In addition to all this, there is tremendous resentment amongst 15 to 20 lawmakers having approached the national BJP chief JP Nadda with complaints against the CM recently, only to be rebuffed n send back annoying all of them thus adversely affecting the unity within the party.

Similarly, in the Uttarakhand state Congress party, the squabble between the present Congress president Pritam Singh and former CM n president Harish Rawat is well known with both the leaders pursuing their individual political agendas making mockery of the the party among the state’s electorates.

However, Congress president Pritam Singh n his state unit seems to be quite active these days giving an impression of sidelining Harish Rawat who at times is compelled to join their protest demonstrations though half hearted.

All these intercine squabbles in both the parties viz Congress n BJP and their below average performances during the last two decades, having allegedly always failed to deliver justifiably to the poor, hapless electorates of Uttarakhand fooling them all the way has now compelled them to search for a third credible political alternative but it still remains to be seen whether Arvind Kejrival as a crusader against corruption and charismatic saviour of the poor n the deprived, really clicks in Uttarakhand or not. Conclusively, the electrorates of this hilly state are totally disenchanted by the political ruling dispensations of BJP n Congress during the last two decades desperately in search of an incredible political alternative. It seems : the saturation point of their frustrations against both of them has crossed limits looking for change, hoping to see a miracle , but will it really happen in Uttarakhand is a moot question? Till then, let’s keep our fingers crossed till then.
