When on 21st July 1999 India’s༽ brave hearts drove away coward Pakistani soldiers n retrieved our territory

Today is historic “Kargil Vijay Diwas” ( Kargil triumph Day). It was on this day, the 26th July that the Kargil war was completed after the valiant Indian Army soldiers captured the high altitude all the outposts lost to Pakistan after a most challenging war with neighbouring Pakistan for sixty perpetual days.

Today is the 22 nd commemoration of KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS in honour of our sacrificed n injured soldiers who dedicated themselves to this war against enemy Pakistan killing hundreds of them and finally conquering all the high altitude lost outposts and areas on India’s side of the line of control deceitfully captured by Pakistan. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Indian prime minister under whose leadership the nation fought the war.

The Kargil war was fought with tremendous valour, grit, determination and fury spirit killing thousands of Pakistani troopers n officers with nearly 527 Indian Army soldiers n officers martyred n around 1367 injured several grievously. Martyrs Captain Anuj Nayyer, Captain Vijayant Thaper, Haniffuddin n Wing Commander Ajay Ahuja have exemplarily exhibited their extreme bravery and valour by sacrificing their lives while fighting the enemy till the last but finally capturing the high altitude outposts from the captivity of Pakistan viz One Pimple post in Kargil sector, snow clad Turtuk mountaneous peak n Tololing Hills peak etc.

They were later on decorated with the second highest award of the land Mahavira Chakra etc. There were hundreds of other dare devil n brave hearts more than five hundred who sacrificed themselves n 1367 who fought the enemy forces most courageously retrieving the lost territory n high altitude outposts killing n driving away thousands of coward Pak troopers. On the Pakistan’s side the casualties were unaccounted.

The bravest of the brave awarded with the highest gallantry honour of the country called Param Vir Chakra were captain Vikram Batra n Lt Manoj Kumar Pandey awarded posthumously. Two other Kargil war heroes to have been honoured with the highest gallantry honours were Rifle man Sanjay Kumar n grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav for their desicive victory after the war.

The Kargil war that started in May n continued till July 1999 with over two lakh Indian Troops on alert positions was finally triumphed by India defeating enemy Pakistan n killing thousands of its soldiers n officers compelling it to vacate our previously held territory n high altitude outposts.

Meanwhile the President, Prime minister, Defence n home minister of India saluted our martyred soldiers n paid their homage at Jai Jawan Jyoti at India gate on the 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas. PAYING HIS RICHEST TRIBUTES THE PRESIDENT Ram Nath Kovind said that Kargil Diwas is a symbol of fearless determination n exceptional valour of our Armed Forces.

I salute the soldiers who fought our enemy and laid down their lives to defend Bharat Mata. The nation is forever grateful to them n their families. The president also presented a cheque of Rs. Twenty Lakhs to Indian Armed forces as a token of solidarity to the martyred soldiers to buy equipments that will help doctors n paramedics to cure the Covid 19 paramedics effectively.

The prime minister Narendra Modi while paying his tributes to Kargil war heroes said that on Kargil Diwas we remember the courage n determination of our Armed forces who steadfastly protected our nation in 1999. Their valour continues to inspires generations.

The Union home minister Amit Shah tweeted in Hindi : Kargil Diwas is a symbol of India’s proud, valour and steadfast leadership. I bow to the soldiers who with their indomitable spirits n courage, drove the enemy from the inessecible hills of Kargil n waved the tricolour there again. The country is proud of the heroes of India who are dedicated to protecting the motherland tweeted home minister Shah.

The Congress president Sonia Gandhi also tweeted on this historic day paying her richest tributes to our valiant soldiers in her tweet writing : On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I salute the brave heroes who protect India by dedicating everything, Jai Hind
