Speaker withdraws petition from Supreme Court, Governor too rejects Congress proposal to convene Assembly on 31st July

The political crisis in Rajasthan is taking twists after twists with the incumbent chief minister Ashok Gehlot still in a position of fix as no fixed date has been given to him for floor test by the governor Kalraj Mishra till yet.

There are two major political developments that took place in Rajasthan today. (1) Withdrawal of his petition from the Supreme Court by the Rajasthan assembly speaker CP Joshi filed by him against the state high court decision of maintaining the status quo of the rebel Congress leader Sachin Pilot and his 19 loyal Congress lawmakers and ( 2) Issuance of instructions by the Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati instructing all the six defected MLAs in Congress party not to vote in favour of Ashok Gehlot government in the incoming floor test, which has so far not been announced.

The BSP supremo Mayawati n the general secretary Professor Mishra has also said that they may file a writ petition in the state high court to challenge the defection of 6 BSP MLAs merging their identity with the Congress party.

However the case filed by a BJP MLA earlier challenging the merger of 6 MLAs in the Congress is already pending in the state high court.

Meanwhile senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal said that since the HC has passed the detailed order on July 24, the July 21 order which was the one challenged in the Supreme Court had merged with the detailed order and the challenge to July 21 order has therefore become infructuous. Sibal hinted that the detailed order may be challenged tweeted the journo Anantha Krishnan G of Indian Express.

As a sequel to these developments the governor Kalraj Mishra has rejected the request proposal of the incumbent Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot submitted to Governor Kalraj Mishra yesterday night by the former after it was unanimously passed by the Cabinet Committee requesting for calling the assembly on 31st July.

Governor Kalraj Mishra has earlier too rejected the cabinet decision’s request to convene the assembly asking for clearing the six queries which were aptly responded by the incumbent CM Ashok Gehlot in their latest proposal to convene the Assembly on 31st July.

It may be recalled that the incumbent CM Ashok Gehlot has already accused the Rajasthan governor of acting under pressure from the central government n being party to murdering democracy. SENIOR Congress leader n supreme court advocate Kapil Sibal too had addressed a press conference strongly criticizing the Governor as playing as a stooge of the BJP led NDA government n openly flouting democratic n constitutional institutions by siding with those who are party to those illegally toppling the democratic elected majority government.

ON THE CONTRARY BSP supremo Mayawati who is hell bent upon seeing the Ashok Gehlot government’s debacle by all means had already directed the BSP’s six defected MLAs in Congress to vote against Ashok Gehlot n had earlier demanded imposition of president’s rule in the state. SHE HAS ALSO THREATENED TO GO TO COURT AGAINST THE DEFECTION OF 6 BSP MLAS TO CONGRESS REQUESTING THE JUDICIARY TO EITHER REVOKE THEIR MERGER IN CONGRESS, MAINTAINING THEIR STATUS QUO OR DISQUALIFY THEM OF THEM MEMBERSHIP.
