According to the opposition leaders n protesting students the union minister has been adamant on holding these exams despite the strong opposition from the students nationally.

It may be recalled that the JEE examination was earlier scheduled for April 7 to 11, but thereafter postponed for July 18 to 23rd, NEET UG was originally scheduled for May 3rd n then pushed to July 26 th.

Now these exams have again been postponed finally to take place on 1 to 6 September for JEE ( Main) and for 13th September for NET ( UG) say news reports.

The students have been protesting demanding ban on these exams forthwith as according to them it’s not feasible to hold the exams in view of the ongoing pandemic.

However, the union minister of Education Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is adamant, strictly adhering to his decision saying that since 7.5 Lakhs students out of 8.5 lakhs in JEE and over ten lakhs candidates out of 15.97 lakhs in NEET entrance exams have downloaded their admit cards, it becomes inevitable to hold the exams unambiguously indicating that majority of them are positively in favour of the government’s decision wanting the exams to be held.

The union minister has been always in favour of holding the examinations as he felt that it is necessary for shaping the educational career n prospects of the students.
